Preferred River Knife?

What’s your preferred river knife for canoeing/ kayaking/ rafting purposes?
As of right now I’m mainly carrying my normal EDC Benchmade Bugout in my dry bag when on the river, but I’m wanting to get a dedicated fixed blade knife to carry on my PFD for easy access in the event I would need it quickly in the event of getting caught up in line, straps, ropes or any of the typical situations one can fathom. What do the people on here typically carry?

For river rescue blades, I would highly suggest something without a point, plus a wide back of the blade. Here’s a nice write up with suggestions for fixed or folding.

As a former raft guide on the Lower Gorge of the New and Gauley. I carry this: NRS Titanium Co-Pilot Knife - https://www.nrs.com/nrs-titanium-co-pilot-knife/pplh mounted on the front chest of both of my PFD’s. It has a rubber handle making it easy to handle when wet and as @DrRock mentioned it’s got a blunt tip. It appears they’ve redesigned it since I purchased mine. With a Spyderco inside the clamshell to use for utility purposes.

To be transparent…I purchased all my gear thru a ProDeal.

I ended up buying an Esee Imlay. It had all the aspects I was looking for, not giant, blunt tip, partially serrated, and produced by a quality company. It cuts through line with great ease and is very sharp right out of the box. I carry it corded to the front of my PFD.

Water & Knives do not Mix. I pulled a rag out my pocket fishing and watched a Kershaw sink to the Bottom.
Changed my Mind about Expensive Knives.
A Cheap Cold Steel or Mora put to the Grinder to knock off the Tip would Work Fine.
I like the Mora Sheaths in that a Tek Screw Can Mount them in easy Reach.
Have one mounted on the Back seat of my Boat Seat.
If someone steals it I will spend another $20 and not shed a tear.
*I keep a Knife, Corkscrew, and Multi Screwdriver in Glove box of all my Cars. Vice Grips Handy too. Leatherman Needle Nose if you Fancy.

Cannot go wrong with ESEE. I probably own 3-4 and all are top notch. Especially for the price.
