You don't need both of those do you? I might recall you already sold one but I will take one off your hands if you want to sale one.

Hey one of those looks familiar!

Any update?

Can't wait for this to get released. My touchscreen is basically inoperable on the factory NAV / MFD. It's so dang frustrating, not to be able to input GPS coordinates or select if other settings in the HVAC. I might try to pull it out and resolder the "bad" connections per the Prius / LC MFC threads I have saved.

Quick question, is the opening for the head unit bigger on one than the other? Or is is it an optical illusion because of the angle of the picture? BTW where did you find these bits?

The one to the right is for the early years, up to 2002?, and has a standard 2-din opening. The left one is for the later years, and comes with a special radio with a bezel that fits this opening.

If they are like on my 2000 and 2004, they are not interchangable, as the outside shape is also different.

The early model is much easier to use, logical and with tactile feedback. The late one is just silly, and can't be used without looking at the buttons and the display - one of the darkest moments of Toyoda engineering.:)

Whats the latest please....any little bit of news would be great as it seems its been ages but know there is lots too do.

OK.... I think it will be cost prohibitive to install the Kenwood amp and have to make a custom facia for it. So to finish it up I am going to get a JVC KDX80BT and use the Bluetooth feature and use my Samsung Note to play music and nav. I will run a cable to center console and install the KDX80BT there.

Will update you with the install pics next week.

Any updates?

I have a 2002 NAV and would like some options and an upgrade.

The website for the project page has not been updated since April or something??

Thought I would bump this thread with fingers and toes crossed.

update

I got a PM from RobRed over the holidays. He said he thinks he has the technicals worked out but can't seem to find a low volume manufacturer partner to produce the things at a humanly reasonable cost.
He said he would have an update in the next few weeks.
That's all I know.....

It it's electrical connectors I may be able to help.

If it's manufacturing of boards, maybe there to. Maybe...

Can I get a description of the snag?

New to this forum, but like what I'm reading. Very interested in the prospect of ditching the crappy NAV/Mark Levinson system in my "new" 2002 LX.
