I put after market Alpine speakers in mine, sounded much better. You could also hook them up as extension speakers for 2 way radio. I did that with my HJ75.

Worth a shot, but any of the 100 series come without a rear wiper and just a plug in its place? Dont think I've ever used my rear wiper out of all my 100's over the years. A lot of delete plugs out there with various sizes but thought I'd check to see if there was an OE part to go in its place.

Just going to yank the speakers, replace the grilles empty, and replace the in-doors until I find grilles at a decent cost...

you have to measure the outside hole and inside. It's not as easy to find one that works. It's not exactly flat on the inside. Normal ones had on ebay domestically weren't good enough for me.
I went through three metal ones before i found one. I cannot read my ebay from 4 years ago to say who it was from. I think the netherlands though.

I ordered OEM bumper covers (p/n 521596A914, 521196B920) to replace the beat up white bumper covers on my 98. I was expecting them to be textured grey so that I could install them as is, but instead they are a semi-gloss black which wouldn't look good at all on the white truck. Does anyone have thoughts or ideas on a method for getting the textured grey look with the new bumper covers? I'm thinking maybe bead blasting them or trying out a textured spray like this. Alternatively, it seems like the aftermarket bumper covers are molded with grey plastic (like this one on eBay), but I can't find any good photos of them to confirm.

It's a winner. Slightly blocked by my ARB drawers but you can still get the cover in and out as long as what's in the pocket won't immediately fall out.

Is this usefull ? I mean, Is the volume interesting? Can you give me an idea of what this can accommodate? If we can believe this to be a "universal" measure, how many boxes of tissue can fit into it? You are free to give another reference

Poverty-adjacent question. I pulled my factory roof rack off, and want to replace the roof side trim… and was hoping the poverty pack clan would know the part numbers for the trim that goes over all the roof rack screws. I am hoping for it being all one piece, with no cutouts for the roof rack feet. I am also replacing my windshield and have been told there is a different trim numbers for LC without roof racks… so trying to track it all down to do at once. Any suggestions?

I got these two from Partsouq when I decided to run without a rack. They fit my 2001 LX and I suspect it will fit all years. It has knock out sections for rack mounting points that you can leave in place for a seemless look:

Having said that, if I were to do this again, I won't bother with this OEM moldings - they were flimsy and not visible unless you are looking at them directly from the top. It was a waste of money IMHO. I would look for a generic rubber side molding, cut it to size and just glue it on.

We never received the "Poverty Pack" 100 in the US. It was usually the cheapest, most basic Land Cruiser and also the most reliable. Reliable because it had just the bare bones.

-I have not seen anybody do this mod yet but somebody might be interested! I checked and Toyota uses these components with our same brake calipers. It would also require a F/R proportioning valve. Not sure how one would deal with the ABS/ATRAC errors.

Thread revival!

So, I have been contemplating doing the abs delete/vacuum booster for a year now. I have been driving the LX without ABS for a long while now. Most of my vehicles over the last 30 years have been deleted or never equipped. While my ABS has be out of commission i have seen little to no negative affects, including snow and rain. Even with a few threshold braking moments I have never had any moments I wish i had it.

Anyways, The master and booster are the easy part. The rear proportioning valve assembly is the issue since there are a lot of components that go into the oem LSPV system and some of which are NLA. I doubt anyone else here has completed the conversion. I'm thinking of just adding in an adjustable valve that I can fine tune the rear bias. I know it won't be as designed and maybe a slight drop in total braking performance but it should be close.
I have worked with a lot of proportioning valves on my personal street and track cars, and while working as a race mechanic. Those environments see a lot of threshold braking and the systems work quite well.

Air-cooled 911's/944/928 I've worked on have a small preset valve in the rear lines that works extremely well. Porsche listed the bias ratio, which I don't recall, but I've considered adding this to the equation. Standard, the aforementioned run a 60/40 split and they offer 4 different units that will increase the rear bias as needed. Based on the numbers I have regarding the LC/LX brake specs and added into a bias calculator, these trucks have approx a 75/25 front to rear bias. Adding steel bumpers, tires carriers, etc to the rear and substantially increasing the rear weight will allow for more rear bias.

Was looking to replace my janked finicky power mirrors with these but the last set I could find just sold. Amayama doesn't list as out of stock but I can't see them getting any if no one else has them.

A company out of Oz sells manual repro's for a very nice price, and has sold a lot of them. Would prefer to spend a bit more for the OEM but looking like it's not an option.

@kevgentile Most folks with modded 40/60/70/80's report better brake feel when they delete the LSPV. I don't know if there's was internally rusted/clogged or the decline in performance was due to the change of suspension springs, vehicle weight, etc. Anyway, I do have ABS/LSPV delete in my 70 series along with the rear proportioning valve and can say the brake FEEL is really good. Good feedback and response. I don't know if I would give up the higher brake boost and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution of the 2000+ years for it though.

My T1N Sprinter had a similar load sensing system. I tore it out and lot of other components due to rust, and it causing a lot of inops.
I have to admit that the braking performance in my '99 is very good and I was very surprised at how good of a system it is once I got in it having spent so many years in German brands.

I'm sure there would be a drop in braking performance but probably marginal. Considering 99% of the braking is going to be well under emergency/threshold situations I would be willing to give up the current set-up for a very basic and near maintenance free one.

I tend to tear into and cut my vehicles apart and do things for no real good reason. Probably boredom. I was recently looking for replacement skins, new or used, to convert my roof to a slick top. Yes, I have issues.
