Going to follow this nice thread especialy how you connect the electronics of the vm engine to the toyoya engine.

I need to connect the electronics also of a toyota 3B engine to a body that previus had a italian vm engine and wonder how to do it !

So if youre willing to describe the electrical part of this swap in detail also that would be fantastic !
Bushmaster86,
I will be happy to do that. I'll make sure to writeup a detailed description when I get to the wiring.

Build update:
We've sold our house and are moving to Greensboro, NC. In the process of putting the truck back together in order to move. Build will resume once I've gotten setup in Greensboro.

Prior to packing, I stared modifying a PTO winch bumper to accept a Warn 8274.
Charles (1978HJ45), FINALLY getting around to using your winch bumper!

I hope to attach the bumper and winch to the truck prior to moving on the 24th. Waiting for a bunch of bolts from Toyota...

Working on the upgrading the fuel system to 12mm lines from tank to engine.

Stock pickup on right has 8mm feed line. HZJ73 pickup on left has 10mm feed line. Thinking of bending some 12mm line and replacing stock 8mm line.

Working on alternator wiring today.

The VM powered truck had a Bosch alternator with a B+ terminal and D+ wire.

Denso alternator has B+ terminal, IG, L, and S wires.

A HUGE thank you to bj40green for sorting the integration of the two system. His directions are as follows:
1. This D+ wire goes to the L terminal (yellow/white wire) on the new alternator

2. Find a wire that is 12V when the key is in the “on” position. You’ll find one in the fuse box. Run a new wire from here to the IG terminal (black/blue wire) on the new alternator.

3. Run a new wire with an in-line fuse from the S terminal (white wire) on the new alternator to the big positive battery stud.

Took a little time away from the Cruiser conversion to work on another project. I fabricated a costume for my daughter to wear to Star Wars Celebration 2015. I build everything except the helmet. She's a Mandalorian named Sabine Wren, from Star Wars Rebels.

In the Cruiser world, I installed a used radiator from a JDM pzj7? With automatic transmission. The original metal transmission lines from the HDJ80 had gotten bent in shipping. I used what I could and used rubber transmission cooler lines to bridge the gaps.

Wonder what would be involved with swapping to LHD shifters and links?

Wouldn't think a LHD shifter would be insurmountable, at least and might keep your pinky happy.

I have a LHD shifter. Unfortunately, the parking break interferes with the shifter. I will use the RHD base and see if I can swap the LHD shifter onto that base.

Did you ever figured out if the electrical wires for oil pressure and water temp could reach the other side of the engine?

Joe
