I found this on Portsmouth Island's Google maps street view on the ocean side.

Sarah, John and all - Looks like we may be out, after all. Combination of work and other factors.

Maybe move us out of the cabin and put us on standby as beach dwellers?

If we need to help pay for the cabin if it doesn't fill, I understand.

:(

So what's with the photoshopped-looking feet @lumbee1 ?
The google street view guy captured his feet in the sand on Portsmouth Island. Normally google will blur artifacts like that out of the picture. I guess they missed that one.

Hey @FJ Junkie -
Does Jamie's change put me as the only one in cabin 2?
If so, and no one else signs up, would it be advantageous to cancel the booking on 15 and squeeze me in 16, or move me to the beach?
-D

Sorry you all can't make it. Maybe next year. Thanks for the update. I'll revise the first post to show you all as potential beach campers.

Thats a good point about potentially cancelling one of the cabins. I checked the recreation.gov cancellation policy and I can cancel 2 days before with only a $10 charge.

Maybe we can poll the group closer to the trip and see if we want to have fewer people in the cabins and keep the third or cancel the third cabin rental.

I will gladly pay the $10 fee. We sold the 4Runner today, so we would have to just have Heather and I go with the Tacoma at this point and we would want to get a topper for it, most likely - something we really aren't that excited about doing (well she isn't :) )

Yay!!!
Boo!!!

Did it go to a fellow ONSCer?

@FJ Junkie please remove me from the list, my father is having heart surgery on the 8th so I'll be up in NE Ohio that week/weekend. Hope you all have fantastic weather and a great time!

Joe, you'll be missed buddy. Best of luck to your Dad, I've been there with mine.

Sorry to hear that Joe. I hope your Dad's surgery goes well.

So who's coming when? I hope everybody has their ferry plans made.

We're on the 1:00pm-ish ferry in on Thursday and some god awful early one out on Sunday. It'll be nice to get home before 10pm Sunday for once!

Fishing, the village and maybe food are my only plans for the visit. Really hoping the weather matches the heat wave we had last year. I'm bringing the kayaks if it's warm enough; time to explore the sound side.

Traditionally, we've only had 8-10 people in the cabins. That's made meals doable in one cabin. We've had people basically pick a night and host it. Not sure of the headcount this time, but 2 of our 3 cabins have a connecting door, and we might not need the 3rd - group meals should be easy enough with all that room. Might need 2 people per dinner to host, though. Post up if you wanna bring enough for 6-12 for a night and we'll get it figured out.

Breakfasts might best be handled with both kitchens going. Kinda hard to have eggs, bacon, biscuits, etc prepared ahead of time so we'll need a bunch of burners.

Lunch is always on the road (beach) and everybody is on their own, cooler food...although I did cook a skate at the cabin last year. I just didn't tell anybody about it because it wasn't really an elegant lunch.

Don't feel compelled to participate in meals if you don't want to. We won't think any less of you unless you hog our meals without contributing!
