I like the new sidewall look. I thought about contacting @sschruff for his, but they are 17s IIRC... not sure I want to stray to far from OE on this build..

J-

I'm running 16's on non-US spec FJ80 wheels. Looking to go to a 17" for the axle/brake upgrade. Work has me bridled again but the chains will be released over the weekend. Let me know if you're interested. . .

And love the new 1/4" sliders - look good.

I'll run back through your thread for size... I think they are too tall though.

Yeah, stock height. . .I think they're 33's, 33.5, something like that. 275/75-16

Well this morning before we headed out for our anniversary weekend... I was locking things up and noticed a huge puddle of oil under Poppy this morning, about 15" diameter.. I have a feeling the rear seal has become hard and brittle from non use over the past few years and with all the new running around it has gone to the SEAL HEAVEN IN THE SKY!!

It may have been bad all along, but the way I had her parked all the oil was to the front of the engine. Now she is sitting level in the shop and allowing the RMS to see the true oil level. So, a bottom end reseal will be in order SOON. Might as well use up that spare Aisin clutch kit I have as well... Never ends... HA!

New oil pan gasket, RMS and slave will be ordered soon.

could it be the galley plug, or i believe there was another one by the bell housing?

Usually the galley plug would blow during engine operation do to built up oil pressure -

How long was your 60 sitting without the engine running J?

G, The upper head galley is good, no issues there. Until I drop the trans I won't be able to check the lower rear galley/welch plug.

Correct on op pressure and blowing out the normal oil galley plug on the head. BUT on pre '85s (IIRC on year) there is a lower block welch/galley plug that can seep, but can not be blown out, The BH keeps it from falling all the way out. After '85 it is a threaded plug and no reported leak issues that I've ever heard of.

The PO said he started it and drove it occasionally since he bought it in 2007. Motor is in great condition otherwise.

Regardless, I know it will need a clutch in the future with the amount of use it will get so, might as well dig in and get after it. Not like I don't have another vehicle to chose from... HA!

Got home and had to change those RED mirrors out...Euro mirrors are on. Then dug a little more and found a new gas cap and radiator cap to swap out with the Stant brand ones.

AND finally opened my new electric hydraulic pump for my bender.. ordered hydraulic oil since no one had the ISO 68 in town.

A bumper like this would be sweet on this 60.

Are the euro mirrors still available? Anyone have the part numbers handy?

IIRC the mirrors are still available, but the gaskets are NLA... @Akella can get the mirrors or could the last time I chatted with him. I have a few sets with good gaskets that I keep for my builds.
