So by choosing to make my new keychain in black, I've opened a question that I don't have an answer for: Why do some 55s have orange logos and some have black?

Trying to figure out if the different colors correlate with model year, body color, etc.

So a great contributing comment would be:

Year made: 1976
Logo Color: Orange
Body Color: Blue/white
Degree of certainty that its original/correct: 100%

OR if someone knows this info already please share it and we can laugh at how uninformed I was..... :)

Year made: 1976
Logo Color: Orange
Body Color: Red/White
Degree of certainty that its original/correct: 50%

Year made: 1977
Logo Color: Black
Body Color: Red/White
Degree of certainty that its original/correct: 90%

I was going to say 100% certain but since I wasn't the original purchaser I won't.

well so far it looks like it *might* be early/late model like the 60 series/62 series logo change rather than body color related. 1967-79 is the range, right?

1970 & 1974
Both black logo
Both green and white paint
Not original owner of either but no reason to suspect a swap

1973
Black logo
Nebula Green/Cygnus White
100% certain

Oh boy. I think we’ve figured it out. Who’s got a 75?

May of 70 Black original
June of 77 Orange original
