That tan tooks great. You started with an 80 power bracket right? I feel for your efforts to get that out, it looked like a task.
Yes power seats. Lots of grinding and hammering a wedge between those welded rivet things.

I'm still trucking along slowly. Last night I mated the LR seat wiring with the connecter of the 80 so that its plug n play. I also added a additional wire to the 80 connector to use a Toyota defrost switch to control the heater. I want to be able to remove seat just like I do now. I am still planning on using the LR seat switches. It would be a nightmare to go another route using individual Toyota switches. All this work is still only the drivers side at the moment but once it's done the passenger side shouldn't take near as long.

No, the seats are pretty light. The foam is not too thick, and they are actually pretty easy to move in and out during the fabrication process. If you use both brackets, they do sit a little high. I am about 6'1" and I would not want to sit any higher, Ideally I would be down about 2 inches more, but I am happy with how they sit. Drove home about 16 hours with these and felt great. I cant even explain how amazing it is having an armrest.

I just found this thread and I am very interested. I saw you originally mention the arm rests. That alone had me sold. I have since gone to a pick n pull and sat in a 2001 Disco. Seats were good as usual. I have been deciding to re cover my '95 seats with some Lseat covers. But I thought if I was going to go through that, then why not re cover some Disco seats instead and have the best of both worlds (I would be happy to buy Disco seats and not re cover them , but all I ever find is dirty light brown. I need gray). I wanted to see if you have made any more progress on the conversion, and I had one suggestion and one question:
1 Did you figure out the seat belts?
2 Since most of our rear heaters are bypassed/disconnected, it would be a great place to mount the seat heater switch where the rear heater switch is located on the dash.

My seats are in and work great. There is another thread detailing more about what I have done. I would quote the link but I am limited on my phone. I am sure if you look up LR or disco seats you will find more of my info.

There are some "Planted Tech Brackets" which popped up on the other seat thread. This is what I wanted when this process started, and likely what I would have bought if they had existed at the time. I have no intentions to continue with an adapter for sale, as the previously mentioned bracket should suffice and it is EXTREMELY easy to make an adapter if you have a drill press and metal saw. The wiring with the DISCOII seats is about as easy as you can ask for, since from the 80 you only need to supply +12V/Ground to the plug. The rest of the disco wiring for the controls and seat heaters is all plug-and-play. Mounting the seat controls will likely take some searching, since they are not mounted on the seat. Admittedly, I adjusted both front seats to a comfortable position and have not have to readjust them in the past year, even after thousands of miles. If someone comes up with a solid location for the adjustment plate, I will likely move forward with it. Super happy with the results. I have said it a million times, but the armrest is just a game changer. I cannot understand the other seats used that do not have the armrest; but I also am way too tall to use the center console lid.

I removed the armrest from a JY disco and welded it to my 80 seat. I used the hole for the lumbar support so that I did not have to cut any more holes in my already ratty seat cover. Been on for over a year and I love it. I will try to post some pictures. I did not add the passenger side armrest as they can use the center console.

Interesting write up. I do like the Disco seats. It is weird that Toyota determined that people don't need armrests. It was probably the same guy that thought cups should be square and change should always be readily available and on hand. You'd think that the fact that most people have arms, having a place to rest them as you cruised the land would have been worth considering.

I'd like to have a few words with this guy . I'm in the middle of trying to adapt jeep grand cherokee seats to planted brackets at the moment. Then, I want to move the e-brake under the dash so I can install a proper full width console that I can actually rest my arm on. A whole lot of work just to make this thing comfortable.

I just adapted an extender for the armrest tray in my console. A good Steven King novel slipped under can add years to your life.

Also weird that Mr. T acknowledged that the people in the back seat might want an armrest, which indicates that they understood the level of comfort that armrest technology could bring to people that felt like they needed it.

Up front? No sir, you'll get nothing and like it.

I've been using my winter emergency bag (clothes, blankets, etc) wedged in between the console and seat. Cumbersome, but it makes a big difference. Kind of a pain during summer months.

What is the difference in height betven lc and disco seats

Not sure of the exact difference in height. I did not measure before, but my Disco seats are significantly higher than the originals. I think you have to take into consideration that the seats are also stiffer than the LC seats. You do not sink into them as much as the Disco's. So measured height is not quite as accurate. But I could not be happier with the added height. It feels great. And the seats are far more adjustable. One nice thing about customizing is that you can put the seat anywhere you want, then adjust from there with the controls. I would definitely be for any bracket that would allow Disco seats to be installed easily by anyone. I cannot vouch for the bracket personally though since I welded my own. But I am very glad I converted. Now I need a new console...
