Borrowed some 35s on 17x9s for mine recently....I dont mind the look of the bigger rim and skinner tyre over the 35" krawlers. Might upgrade my 33" road tyres to something similar now.

78 with 35" BFG's on it. Just bought and drove from North Carolina back to Oklahoma. My 2003 Windstar was the chase vehicle and was not able to do the sustained high speeds the FJ40 was doing (I found this somewhat satisfying).

While it has a Mr Goodwrench crate 350 in it (325 hp), on the road at 85 mph it's only taching 2400 rpm (nv4500 in 5th) and feels like it has no power. I plan on dropping down to 33's very soon.

I chose 33x12.50 BFG A/T

I chose 33x12.50x15 BFG A/T KO for my rig. great tires on, and off road. I've hit mud holes where I drag the axles 20 feet, and my buddie's full size Blazer got stuck
They are definantly a lot smoother than my old school bias ply 7.0x15 on old school steelies.

here is a comparison pic of 33's to 31's.
My buddie's Jeep has a 3" lift and 31 mud dawgs.
my FJ40 has 4" SUA and 33's

Bump. Any new pictures?

So the OP asked about the difference in ride between 33s and 35s. Honestly there’s not much, but the taller you go the less you feel of bumps or undulations in the road or trail. But the taller you go yields more real axle clearance.

As has been said earlier, taller tires require changes in gearing for engine performance.

Would love to see a build thread on your chop, looks great, very functional!

No build thread. Took a 66 FJ45 that was incomplete in boxes and mixed in parts from a 40, a 55, and a 60.
Used this forum as a guide for each part.
My work is not finely finished.
If there’s something in particular you wanted to see I could post it if not redundant to better posts.
