IMHO, plasti-dip is good for flares--everytime I get pinstripes I just zap the flares and wallaa, like new. My wheels are powder coated, center caps are plasti-dipped. I plasti-diped the grill and whale tail chingadera.

Zona - looks good! Time to de-chrome the front/rear with the same color PlastiDip you used on the flares.

Where'd you get the mini-rear view mirror mounted off the hood??? Pretty cool, very Japanese.

Why would you dip your truck into a soft covering that will deteriorate quickly? including rims and tires? It sounds like an a****** question, but I truly wonder.

I've used it to "de-chrome" the grill and headlight trim and it's held up for the past 9 months since I applied it. It's been to the DIY carwash twice, taken direct spray from the hose there and hasn't budged.

I wouldn't personally do an entire vehicle (I'm in your camp there) but am happy with it overall. Very easy to touch-up should a blemish present itself.

Thanks, it took me three months to find a fender mirror for the passenger side, very few cruisers like it--I happen to dig it. I can't recall exactly where I purchased it but it was a chore. I will now have to think about de-chroming the front/rear--thanks for the suggestion!

Can you send a pic of the de-chromed grill n headlight trim?

In my experience, Plasti-dip does not deteriorate, it may peel off but it does not deteriorate. It's fairly rugged considering I drive it through the AZ desert and mountains regularly--I've had the plasti-dip on my center caps and they've held up well--every few months I spray them for 10 seconds and pop 'em back on. I've plasti-dipped the side mirrors about 1yr ago and surprisingly I've not had to touch them up. I can peel off the plasti-dip at any time.

A couple pics attached of the front, blacked it out and holding up well (at least 9 months with plenty of trail/highway use and a couple of power washes with the hose).

Thats his "calling card" for me. I can tell its his truck from a distance once I see the mirror

I wanna see someone spray their rig with NeverWet :)

That is a cool product, and now I don't need a Campteq. Just spray myself down with the basecoat and rub some topcoat in my ears and nose, and BAM! I am water proof and dirt proof and can sleep anywhere I want with no risk of getting dirty or wet. I am going to be spraying everything I own, good by dry cleaners:flipoff2:

I think I still have a few old stock right hand hood/fender mirror in chrome. PM me if you are interested
