:hmm:

That plate was borrowed off a friends 80 for a brief spin around the block to feel what shedding 800 or so lbs would feel like. No relation. Its back on its proper owners 80.

Top is gone and some more mockup. Trying to get tire/axle to fender well looking right to make up for the 80's axle setback.

Anyone with a 55 and an angle finder happen to have the slope/angle of a stocker hood ?

Width is surprisingly not too far off......hood may need 2-3" max. Most of the difference is the very curved out nature of the 80 doors and body which tend to overhang wheels at least 1.5" per side......so if the 55 panels sit flush or 1/2" inboard- hood ends up being just a few inches off.

The Doors and fenders are mounted about 1.5" higher than 80's were.

current springs are OME stock height with a 30mm spacer up front for leveling front to rear.

Had to delete alot of the front overhang- delete dryer- move trans cooler and radiator back a touch. All in- about 6” of 80nose and overhang is gone or pushed back because the 80has a muuuuch longer snout than the 55.

The 55 quarter panels were too long and the 80 axle position is too far back. So i just lopped off 6” of fender to line up the wheelwell opening to leave the stock 80 axle position. Sort of a snub nosed 55 front end......but it works well.
