I know someone who would probably buy the lot from you again at potentially multiples of what you can pick the lot up for. Worst case you sell $5k worth and keep the better stuff for yourself. That way your never actually out of pocket!! Let me know if you want a phone number to give this guy a call, be careful he's sharp!!

The a/c complete would be $500
PTO complete 400-600 looks more 400 but if you have 55 shafts with the pillow block it could go higher.
tcases- 150-200
trans 100-150 for h42 400-600 for h41's the ones that don't turn check them and make sure they are not h41's. Even solid there are parts that have value.
rear axles 200-400 in the states as there are not many full floaters here.
Fenders are 150-200 each if they are rust free which is very rare.
Front drivers doors 200 each maybe 50-100 for the others.
The rear tailgates with the manual cranks are extremely rare in the US. I could see those going for quite a penny if they are in good shape. The others are maybe 100-150

These are US prices.

My first question is, why didn't you post this in the 55 section?
FJ55 Iron Pig Preservation Society

My guess is that you'd get a lot more feedback there...maybe you can ask a mod to move this thread over...

I originally posted on the 40/55 tech section simply due to the volume of traffic. I needed some 55 tech questions answered as much as the feedback on the purchase. It appears that someone has moved this tread over the the 55 section.

Hopefully I can get a few more comments and suggestions.

Trollhole - Many thanks for the feedback! At those prices I would almost be tempted to part the lot and send them back to the US via the slow boat. I know quite a few people over here that are interested and have 55's, but I'm don't quite have a grasp of what the market is.

I have scouted out another 4 55's that are solid and for sale. Prices range from $500 -$1,500 for complete rigs. Most are not running, but have all the potential in the world.

The problem is still storage!:bang: I need a workshop.

Anyone ever heard of or thought of a "community or members only" workshop collaborative? There is are a couple of industrial ares's near me that have great potential for workshops. The only issue is that they are asking between 2 and 5K per month for a lease. Too much for me personally, but if I could get 10 others interested in a space to wrench it may be viable:meh:

If not I'm going the the hillbilly route and rent a storage unit to work out of.:hillbilly:

Ill try answer a few questions for you:

They all look 78/79 except for the r/w one which has the earlier sharp angle door frames, id say it is a 75-77 model

The plate next to the body plate you photographed is the compliance plate, it wll have the month/year stamped in it.
It is either located next to the body plate, or under the battery on the r/h fender. (this plate is more important then the body plate, as you need it to register the car again)

The Blue tailgate is pre aussie spec 1973, as that seems to be the last year we got an electric motor, which it must have as it is missing the hand crank hole.

All Trans should be H41 - remember this is aussie spec stuff, H42 are rare here....

If you want, i can come have a look with you, im no expert but being a 55 nut, im sure the two of us can work it out.

Dont worry about the space, I will be able to sort that for you one way or another, dont worry about the workshop either, it might be a few months away, but will be happening regardless. in the meantime, i have permission and access to the hoists at my current employment over the weekends/afterhours if you want anything done....just let me know...

Also I have a truck that im setting up for towing, so that isnt an issue either.

Looking at the pics, this is a deal that simply cant be missed. That is a piggy gold mine.

UPDATE:

After scoping this auction on eBay (see link below) I have made the decision. I am buying the farm. In a good way, that is. I even have a nod from my :princess:!

I am heading over to finalise today. I still have the storage issue, but have some ideas rolling around (thanks Dave).

I will attach pics of all the goodies once I get everything sorted out.

UPDATE...With questions

This weekend I went out to sort out the pig pen. I have ended up purchasing 2 complete rigs (White and Brown, and Black) and all the spare parts. The White rig was the owner's son, and the Red and White was for sale, but the gentleman wanted $3,500 for just that rig. I decided against purchasing the R/W due to the cost and the fact that it is an earlier model ('76). Good eye's Dave. Long story short I picked up both rigs and all the goodies for $1,400.

Below are a couple of pic's of additions that I did not know were included till last week.

My question to the community is this; What is the difference in the transfer cases. One is stamped "AISIN" and the other two are stamped "ASCO". All three are connected to H41 4 speeds. The "AISIN" is the only one with a parking brake attached!? Pic's in next post.

One more in the sty!

After picking up a couple of loads of bits and pieces I figured it was time to grab one of the rigs
