Initial Cuts:

I'm creating more work, but I'm losin some weight too ;p I had big problems aligning the rear clip bodylines to match the existing one's, don't know how it got outta whack cuz I leveled it all up  The corners weren't very useable anyway & I could see the outside quarters getting bashed. I'll use the dbl. gas can carrier as a gate between the roll bars. I'll also add another small curved tube to both rear bars higher so it will act as side corners:

i like the way that rear looks. are you going to match the contour along the edges of the rear wheelwell to the rear with tube as well?

I have a few  rollin around up there, but I'm also open to suggestions too :) I may cut both rear tubes, sleeve 'em & extend to the rearmost edge of the frame. I'd like to maximize the floorspace, so the gate will need to hang out over the back edge. Also a dbl. tube bumper may be in the works, dunno yet.

i think i would cut off the two rear roll cage tubes where they turn the 45*, run a mount out from the frame under the floor and bring the cage down to meet, or when you do the rear bumper maybe tie in those rear cage mounts there that way you get those corners of floor space when you go to mount the "tailgate" up. ???

Thanks for the insight!
I need a solid mount for my hinge for the tailgate, so the rear bars need to stay as is. I've decided to make a cargo cage, similar to what I did on my 40. So, I bent 2 pieces of 1 3/4" DOM on 180 deg. which'll mount diagonally off those lower curved rear bars. That way I can mount my tail lights high & outta the way. The cage will be hinged off the 2nd down bar from the top & it'll open like a hood. Stay tuned......... ;p

so are you going to boat tail ? theres no reason to make it square if your keeping the rear cage like it is.

Chuck I am really looking farward to seeing how this all turns out!

So how many years have you been working on this now:confused:???;)

I know what you're sayin & I might do it. I need to figure out the attachment/ bracing points on the cargo cage first. Wait till you see what I got planned. :hillbilly:

When Pigs Fly.....

Gotta luv a :pig: w/ sexay curves & wings too :bounce2:
I got the tailgate mocked in place & the pieces cut for the tail lights, which'll be next. I'll use some tail lights, same as the one's I got for my 40, from Northern Tool. I thought about using the stock one's, but they may get crunched, so I'll keep 'em if a stocker could use them. For the 180 deg. curved tail light pieces, I had to use the 'ol fill tube w/ sand & cap the ends so it won't deform too badly while I bend it ;p It's only 11 ga. 1 1/4" HREW for you weight monitors :) I have the hinge, fabbed by the infamous Gordofab Engineering, which'll be mounted up soon - I gotta build out from the rearwardmost pass side tube. I'll use 1/4" plate cuz that tailgate will need some beefing. I don't wanna come up from the frame w/ that mount cuz I decided to keep the stock bumper........

I never wheeled that pig or it probably would have had them !

Seriously, the only reason I used them in the past was because I was on a VERY tight budget and that was the cheapest and easiest way to get big tires on there so I could wheel my pig! Hopefully that's a thing of the past! Now that there's Knuckle Busters !

Roy - I know you're movin & tryin to get rid of your past mods, but I tole you I don't want any of your extended shackles! These things weigh 20 lbs. each!:lol::lol::grinpimp:

Thomas = BULDZR I see you lurkin, post up good buddy :skull: :)

You think I'd fib about a mod as fawesome as that? You ain't seen the patented tie rod strengthener fix-o-rama either, I bet. I'll ask the master modder if he thinks I should reveal his "secret":lol::grinpimp:

Beefay! :smokin:
Nutha quality piece from the master at Gordofab Engineering :hillbilly:
1 3/4" O.D. 1/4" wall DOM outers w/ stainless rod & hwde., Mc Master-Carr bronze bushings & an UHMW thick washer:

Didn't know Gordo was still in the biz..... looks like he has made some design improvements since he made mine up for me. Cool.

Very very gooooood...I'm glad it all has that effect on your buildup.

NICE fab work by the way! Wish I could do some of that right now...:crybaby:

My 40 is just sitting, and the 60 is a DD that I can't seem to work on lately.

What I need are some people to bust MY chops, and I think I will have to do some traveling in the future to some events in nearby states as a start.

Keep it up with your Piggy!

You haven't been to a TLCA event yet? You a member in a local chapter? Besides the design/ build part of the process, that's the BESTEST part is when you get to test out your own creation & mingle w/ that nicest people you'll evar meet. Then, go back & change if there are any flaws - that's what I do anyway & it keeps me motivated :) I attended 3 events this year, wanted to go for more, but fixin/ keeping up w/ 2 rig buildups is tough & not cheap. Start up a build thread. I have no problems knockin on a purist :)

I think her ass is on fire.....

Thanks to Roy's "structural" sexay roll cage gussets my cage is almost complete  Seriously, dude fawesome work as always :hillbilly:
