Chuck,
Glad to see you are back on the pig project!:D Looking good!

Is that an ARB locker switch I see hanging from the dash? Are you going to have ARB's f&r??

BTW did you notice that I bought Kenny Greenberg's old 40?
I LIKE!!!

You a high roller in Vegas yet?
Yep, that'd be an ARB switch for the front, 14 bolt rear already has a Detroit :bounce2:
Didnt' hear about the *new acquisition. You go thru Cruzahs like I got thru grinding disks  Kenny's rig is perfect for you - old skool & already dented  I thought he was running 36 X 14.5 radials unless you changed them out (?) Post up some pics when you CLEAN it up :hillbilly:

Nope! Still in GA. Waiting for the house closing's (buying one out there and selling ours here, back to back closing's ). Should be out there in 2 or 3 weeks!

Yes I changed out the 36's for a used set of 38.5's!

Old school or not at least I don't break every time I wheel:lol:! Ouch!!! Just kidding, don't get mad!:D

:flipoff2:Hi jack!

:bounce2: Lookin great Roy! Last I saw it, it was covered in mold/ mildew. You cleaned it up allright & threw some new dune beige on it - rattlecan it or use a roller? I always liked Kenny's rig cuz it was the same color & setup similar as mine ;p

Now, onto the updates - got the battery mount finished up. No flex at all :) I used 1 1/2" & 1 1/4" HREW tube & 4 - 3/8" grade 8 thru bolts, also braced to the frame w/ 1/4" vert. pieces. Fabbed the top holddown too :hillbilly:

Wow. I need to get my butt in the garage to learn/gain more experience. Your skills and imagination for fabrication is just inspiring. Thanks again for sharing.

Anytime & thank you for posting your positive opinion :) I'll take it either way, constructive or not. I was thinkin Roy & Barry were the only one's helping/ giving feedback. As I've said before this is my passion & I really enjoy sharing ideas w/ the TLCA community. I'm not just building to try & be creative just to be that way, but moreso, fabbing sound functional & structural parts for my :pig:

Oh yeah...feedback. How much is this thing going to weigh??? Couldn't resist....
How about an overall shot Chuck? Are you still going with the Avalanche look , or have you come to your senses and gone with the Honda Ridgeline look? Wait a minute.....

Hey, I bought a plasma finally. Maybe I can begin to fab some of that crazy stuff like you. I need a tube bender and a lot more free time, but maybe after the 45 is done. Still thinking about moving back to ATL next year, so.....I want to see this 55 rollin before then. Keep up the progress!

I'll get some overall shots later today. Unlike some of the smaller components that make up this rig have changed, the main concept will stay as originally derived ;p I'm really struggling with what to do about the rear sheetmetal where I joined the body panels at the bobbed joint. My body skills are weak & it's not exactly straight  I aligned the bed floor first & welded that, then tried to line up the rear.

Sounds like you're toolin up for a build with the new plasma :bounce2: You'll finally be able to cut that radius like buttah :) If you get a JD2 bender, you can borrow any of my dies. Can't say when this'll be ready to roll, maybe next year I hope!

Aiiight.....I may have a solution for your power problem. Heh... how about a 12HT?
You know you NEED another diesel truck. Don't know quite yet, but I may bring another shipment of diesels in and one of them would be a 12HT.

So are you keeping tabs on how much $$$ you'll have in this monster when your done or is that Q taboo:o?

You think I have a power problem w/ a big block "F"? Thanks anyway but I have a 6BT on standby if I ever get to start my next build. I'm tryin to keep both current Cruzahs drivetrains simple & the same so I don't have to go learnin all about another engine type. Good luck with your Toy diesel venture though
There's a 6BT hidin under that harness - can't wait to try & hook all that up :frown:

Nah, really never keep tabs on my builds  Just as on my 40, I'm mostly concerned about axle strength & a flexy suspension on this build too & that's where most of my cost is concentrated on. I still have *some purist roots left in me that's why I stick with the simplicity of the stock motor & a mildly low geared *stockish drivetrain. Most of the parts acquired for this rig are rebuilt, leftover from my 40, Ebay or salvage yard stuff so I'm tryin to be as frugal as possible. Thanks for askin though ;p

There is actually LESS to learn with a diesel....assuming you don't dive into the injection pump.
Vacuum leaks seem to be a thing of the past, crumy carb adjustments....gone....
One wire hookup....easier...bling...higher. :)
I am completely thrilled with the diesel in my 40. Next time I see you, take it for a spin and see what you think. Nothing wrong with an F though. I am keeping the F in the 45....it's a sweet motor too.

Int. Door Hinge Panels:

Been doin alotta small things lately - painting, relocating things in the engine bay, hooking up heater lines, etc. Since I'm not going to use the int. pillar panels, I'll just make a few covers for the door hinge access holes. Just cut them, so I'll round the corners & attach w/ sheet metal screws. I'm waiting for my oil cooler fittings & braided lines to come in, then I can reinstall the intake, headers, steering column & seats. I still need to score some Ebay TJ coils so I can get back to the suspension. I'll start back on the rear boxing of the cage area that ties into the roof this week. Stay tuned this'll be the fun part :bounce2:

 That last part got me excited  :)
You made those yourself? Are those for the front door hinges? My front door hinge pillars are completely shot. This seems like a good alternative than completely rebuilding it.

They'll cover the holes on the interior where you access the bolts for the hinges. The 2 small one's are for the bottom area @ the front door hinge. The other 4 are located on the pillars behind the front seats :hillbilly:
