Great photos by all of you!
Man that second to the last pic in the thread here of the yellow FJ is at full tilt. That would be some serious pucker factor for me...... Did everyone go through that? Even Steve & Darwalk with there big lifts???

Darwalk, beautiful rig!!!

Steve, yours is looking sooo good. You forgot to hang some pink panties on the grill around the "L" Would have made Genes pic of your truck PERFECT.....

That pic of Ocean's FJ is a little "doctored." She would have pee'd her pants at that angle! ....actually, so would I.

I kinda figured whose 80 series rigs are whose but the two on top - with the roof top carrier and the one in front of it (not the lifted one on top). And also the one on the bottom close to Reids rig.

Too bad I couldnt go. Looks like everyone had a good time.

Thanks for the pics, guys. Nice to meet Nick, Randy and Roofie. These guys a serving the country and preserving our freedoms, stationed at Camp Pendelton. Also great wheelin with some new faces and always a pleasure to wheel with Reid and his buddies. Gene also has the correct color FJC. Had a good time.

If you thought Sat. dinner was good, Sunday breakfast was even better, Thanks Braden and Steve.
Will post pics tomorrow.

Thanks everybody for coming out this weekend. We definately ended up with a bigger turnout than I had anticipated. It was great to meet and wheel with so many new enthusiast's as well as get out again with those of you I've seen so little of lately. Other than tying up a bunch of loose ends, I'm pretty much done with the mods for a while. It's definately a fine line between spending time on your rig and spending time with your rig.

Unfortunately, I hardly took any pictures (and that isn't like me:rolleyes:). Therefore, I shall rely on others to document the weekend. Reid even left his camera behind (and that definately isn't like him either:rolleyes:).

I said it when I posted up this run and I will say it again; I want to get out as much as possible this season. I'm thinking about a mellow camping run in a couple weeks. Maybe out to Corrizo Gorge or Valley of the Moon and then staying the night. Perhaps after that, I'll feel like giving the new gears some "proper" testing:D

Yeah, I can't believe I didn't bring the video camera. I would've gotten some great footage. However, I do have some video from Eric that I need to post.

Awesome pictures guys.

Hawkeye's rig is at the bottom. I didn't get the screen names of the other two. I think one of them isn't/hasn't signed on.

Pictures and video from Eric. Damn nice quality for a camera phone.

Who needs to carry a camera if you have a phone that has results like that?

Great footage Eric. Thanks for posting those Reid.

A few more:

Steve did you lift a wheel there too? Seems like that shouldnt have happened, was it that tweaky? I figure the FJs are expected but I was thinking Darrin wouldnt in comparision. I think with more flex in the front maybe that would have been the difference, cant remember if Darrin took both sway bars off?

:hhmm:

Great pics! Looks like you all had a great time. I am supremely jealous.

I think I lifted the back tire a couple of times last weekend. I think the biggest issue with the lift is that the L shocks are about 4" too short for the ammount of lift that those comp springs give. After a few other things I need to do to the vehicle, I will get new shocks. I talked to Dylan at Icon(Donahoe Racing back then) and he said that the monotube shocks for their F-250 lifts would work great on the LC. So that might be where I am going :D

I DID take the front swaybar off, but not the back yet. I think it would do no good with those shocks, so I just haven't done it.

Let me know what you find out. This solid axle stuff is great but I kinds feel like it could be more flexy myself...

Naw. To be quite honest, I can't remember having ever lifted a tire while an a trail. I lift a tire almost every run being a poser and climbing a rock though:D I've got to get a single front tire over 2 feet off of the ground to lift a tire. I have lowered my rear shock mounts and removed both sway bars.

I'm at work so I don't have any pics but I'm pretty impressed with what I can get out of the L's, all things considered. I have about 24" of overall max travel in the rear; not too bad for an 11" shock. That said, I still want to do 14" Fox's someday:D

Yet another comment about improving the shocks? Are these a simple bolt on, or do you need an eye adapter or any other mods to make it work? Im ready to drop some coin for the sake of more flex NOW! Anyone able to tell me what I can get now and simply bolt on w/ no major issues?(that will improve flex situation) I have an appointment w/ John at SDTrux in a week, times a wastin!
:bounce:

Initial measurements indicate that this will not be a simple bolt in procedure. I have yet to go down to Fox to see what they can do as I've been pre-occupied with everything else:o

Eye adapters are not the answer as they add length to a shock that is already too long:frown:
