Phone Mounting Advice

I am using a KUDA mount (kudausa.com) in my LX570. The original mount I ordered was way off for the LX570 grey interior but they were awesome and made me a new mount that is a 99% perfect match to the factory leather. If you order one and have a grey interior let me know and I'll send you my order number so they can make it with the right color leather.

I'll have to dig up some photos, it sits further forward on the center console than the ProClip center console mount which I like and my phone fits great down there but it is not an ideal location for GPS use as it is distracting to glance down that far. I'm going to order a ProClip vent mount and the RAM parts for the grab handle mount and see how I like those setups. I'll keep the KUDA for secondary devices.

Not sure what kind of phones you guys have...tactical 5 lb phones? Those mounts are egregiously...prominent. Surely they must obstruct the view out the windshield at the center position, and likely illegal that way by most states.

Magnetic Scosche mount (with metal plate applied to EXTERIOR of phone case) - super sturdy, takes a serious bump to get it to fall.
RAM mount for iPad mini.
Panavise mount for Yaesu Head.

Have sense added a Pro-Clip and custom bracket for additional Scosche mounts and a flashlight mount on the center console...
What Ram mount did you get for the iPad? Where did you mount it? How's the X Grip? I'm looking at a very similar setup, and just sorting through the options for an LX570. I'm not too interested in drilling, and for that reason the windshield suction cup is appealing.

Just their normal tablet-sized X Grip. Its mounted to the trim (yes drilled through). You could mount it on the windshield with a long RAM arm, but I prefer to keep the view clear. I had a Tundra where I used the window mount and then braced the tablet on the dash. Had to be careful or the vibration would wear the dash trim/paint, and it covered part of the built-in nav. RAM also has a mount that fits between the seat and center console that IndyCole posted, seemed to work well for them.

Just wanted to follow up on this mount. The mount itself fits fine. Hold the mount/phone just fine. However my passengers legs will rub against it and it squeaks and creaks. After 6 hours of squeaking away driving to Telluride last week I was about to lose my mind. I ordered the ProClip vent mount as well as the RAM Motorcycle ball and Double Swivel arm to mount to the A-Pillar. I am guessing I will like the vent mount for my phone as I am right handed but we will see. I plan to use both and mount my trail radio on whichever one I do not use for my phone.

ProClip USA does make some really good mounts for vehicles, I have used them in the past. Okay, I just looked at what ProClip USA is offering for the 200 series and, well, no thank you for that mount. I had used them in prior vehicles, 4Runner, Outback, and others but no thanks on the LC200. I do have to say the only issue I have and its not major is the lack of actual storage and places to put things. I have a work and personal smartphone, both use wireless charging and I can't have them both in the Qi charger at the same time.

I have used proclip on several vehicles in the past as well as Panavise. The problem with the LX570 is there really isn't a lot of free space on the dash near the driver to put things. You are surrounded by buttons and vents so your options are some what limited if you don't want to obstruct anything or put stuff up on the windshield.

Just curious what turns you off about the Proclip mount? I've tried a few mounts, run my truck pretty hard, and have had zero issues with the Proclip.

Prior PrioClip mounts have worked well for me, for me personally I do not like the options in the LC right on top of the vents. Of course today I had to drop mine ride off for some 3M Film corrections (first mod) and don't you know it I left my phone in the Qi charger. So I will stop off tomorrow and get it. Just not used to having it out of sight, but if I had a ProClip mount it would be front and center :)

Did mine this week. I have a junk drawer full of ram mount stuff. This work great for me for long trips and I can add a GoPro if I want.

Proclip is perfect for 2016+. Tried Ram and returned it as look like crap and hard to operate with one hand. Here it is my setup on my 20LC. BTW you can use IPHONE11 code for 10% off. They offer left and right side installation by the vent. I went with right as didn't want to cover half of vent with my big iPhone Max.

I like that, too bad it won’t for for a 2011.

For a vent mount, after trying 3 or 4 this is the one I found works best. It is rock solid, doesn't bounce or vibrate and holds in place no matter what terrain I drove over. It grips the vent incredibly well. I bought an inexpensive case with a round magnet built in and it does not slip at all.

I absolutely love the dash mount iOttie magnet mount. Its not obstructive or distracting while driving yet its in line of sight enough to make navigation really well placed. The magnet is firm and I can even use it to record trails without a lot of camera shake. The phone's camera, combined with the mount and the OME suspension make for a near stedi-cam experience on the road.

wouldn't side airbag deployment will make your phone and mount into projectiles?
I had actually done this identical thing on the passenger side. I took it down per this advice from this forum.
