At any rate, I drove the rig about 100 miles today to do a little achy breaky in, of this new(ish) motor. Did some sand cruising and got it up to 69mph on the 3lane speed roads. Unfortunately, just like body building, you get more compliments from guys than from women when owning a Toyota Land Cruiser

I completed the Maiden voyage of this rig, a 200 mile trip to Cotton City, AZ. After much time to reflect I have decided to give this LC a name change to: Peaches.

She ran suprising well, and only got a temper after some fierce off reading near Mt Newman. She handled really well and gave me no issues, until today. I picked up some family and took it out in some nearby dirt, which turned out to be wet sand! It would not have been a problem if someone had locked the front passenger tire.

There is still much work to complete, but I am happier than a pig in sh it

Ha been there...got pulled out of Newman creek by a Polaris a few years ago, just off FS132D near Lake Mary. Could have used front and rear lockers that night....

This weekend I took Peaches to emissions, and surprisingly received a D, despite our minimal knowledge of the Spahgetti vacuum wiring.

I went up to Phoenix and she purred her ass up the whole way, but she did not like the traffic up there, and it was decided that she needs a new fan clutch. We did some brake adjustments, and installed a new master cylinder. I was able to walk around @Cruddz landcruiser bone yard, including this head with sick ass patiner. I also met @LandCruiserPhil, who shared some tight stories. I was able to do some off-roading, as mentioned by @Abigail, and I drove Peaches back home Saturday night, clocking in around 700 miles on this renewed motor

I headed down to a Hispanic owned mechanic shop and told them I failed my emissions test, presenting them with my exam scores. The nice, smiling Hispanic man told me, no prolem, adjustment. Well, Peaches failed again and I was quite bummed. I hadn't paid for the service yet, and the guy said, no prolem, bring it back tomorrow. @Cruddz advised to change oil since it was contaminated with the reringing.

This is a simple write up of a complex oil change:

after dropping the old, steaming oil onto a dirt surface, violently jam a dull tip screw driver into the side of the preexisting oil filter. Don't worry about piercing any of the vacuum lines, they are strong!

i tend to go with ome, products, but that's only because I'm very wealthy for a Mexican. In this case, the oil filter is direct from Mr. Toyota's sweat shop factory.

and lastly, don't forget the overpriced American brand oils for optimum performance

You can add some denatured alcohol to your gas to help with emissions. It acts as an oxidizer to clean up the mix.

So I washed Peaches this am, and went back to the Hispanic emissions shop for carb adjust. I posted a previous threading asking about vacuum lines, and he apparently took it off intentionally to assist with passing, below you will see what lines he disconnected

whatever he did, apparently worked, because this happened

i also suspect changing the oil helped with the test. Peaches is now officially street legal

Back with an update on Peaches..
I ordered a couple parts, and got some parts from a friend as well

this is my new air filter, my old one was slightly worn and tired.

i had a ton of issues finding a comparable shock to the superior ostrich brand, so I came up on these bilstein. I will provide a review of them in 12 months

these bushings were also slightly ready for retirement.

i replaced the fan clutch. The difference is obvi

After an afternoon of "wheelin" I noticed something was amiss from the undercarriage...

Well, bilstein shocks are complete garbage, as evidenced by the clear break on this photo

2 inch lift. I called Vato Zone and purchased some rancho shocks. I plan on buying, and destroying, every brand of shocks until I can find one that can take the abuse. These machines run better when they're put through the guillotine. "If she dies, she dies."- Ivanka Drago
