I put mine back on when I changed my door out using factory clips and 3M tape. Use 1/4" 3M exterior trim molding tape on the edges of the molding. Put the tape on, leave the red back side plastic on, don't expose the back side adhesive. Just leave a little tag end to grab hanging loose for once you clip the molding into place. Put the molding in the clips against the door, pull the tag end of the plastic that covers the adhesive all the way off, push into place. The factory clip part number is 90467-12075.

Cool. Goo gone got everything off the car itself. I’m going to goo gone the mouldings themselves then use what you’ve recommended. Thanks!
No, negative on goo gone. Keep that for removing the kids slime from carpet. For any sticky stuff left on the vehicle, you need the 3m eraser wheel. Without that, I would NOT have had the Land Cruiser done that quickly. Very valuable tool, expensive but worth every penny. If it cost $300 I would buy it.

Wife wants me to paint on the throwback paint!
I think it's great that your wife is for it. It'd be a bold move but fun...and the 'internets' would appreciate it 🤟

Finishing off the top of the hood with the orange and yellow bars/stripes (maybe with your LCG logo incorporated) would break up the large white area. Send me a pic from above for a view of the hood.

Also, have you considered using vinyl wrap films (gasp!) for something like this? If it doesn't sit well, you can easily remove. For the amount of white area, it'd probably cost around $100 for material.

Yea, the wrap would be the way to go, against my nature but a good idea. Although, I would most likely paint it anyway because it would be fun to do custom graphics again.

It’s probably too much for me, too flashy but it’s really cool.

Going to get a new polishing pad today. Will polish with compound again, and do a final. Should shine up nicely. Might try to sand and completely remove a few dirt spots. Since I’m back from HIH, and if I sand through the paint now I won’t look like an idiot. 🤪

Looks really nice now! I sanded the passenger rear quarter panel and front fender where there was some dirt showing. Then compound the whole car again. Then I polished it with cleaner wax and wiped it down. Slick as ice now and looks much deeper and rich. The passenger door is really the only thing I might redo, it was wrecked once, so it needs some attention that I had no time for last week. Wait, was that just last week??

One final pic.

I saw this in person at HIH9. Looks amazing. I was blown away that a dude can spend 100 hours and $500 in a carport and get this kind of results. Major skills, for sure. Let’s paint an 80 next!!!! 🙂

Yeah it looked great! Cheaper than a wrap. Unique too.

Like we were talking at HIH (bluecruiser), its time for you to loose the white or change your name :p Let do it!! Bring it up here, and become the true Bluecruiser! It would leave here finished with a grille on though.;)

Now I have to do it. Need a different blue though. Hmmmmmmmm. This could be fun.

I like the idea of keeping Toyota colors, but Subaru has a nice blue on some of those new cars.

Capri looks nice!! I could get on board with this!
Its a great color, but would need the off white roof or bumpers or something to break up the light blue, otherwise your license plate would need to say "its a boy" I love that grille color.

Just seeing this... I need a nap just thinking of the work involved. Looks totally rad.
