Wicked. What paint gun, tip size, pressure setting are you using for both base and clear?

Unreal! Just wow.

Anest iwata, it’s a cheap one, like $130. 1.3 tip, 30 psi. No clear, was single stage. I love my single stage.

For a 130$ any Iwata is a great buy. I had a 1.4 Iwata 400 and loved it for BC/CC but for S/S I went to the SATA Jet 4000.

Hell I sprayed a few with a 1.4 Harbor Freight PURPLE and was surprised at the outcome... The paints today are phenomenal compared to even 5 years ago.....

Almost complete.

I'm a "blue car guy", and I wouldn't have chosen that shade of blue, if this had been my project. I would've probably leaned more toward a tan/khaki with a white roof (as a nod to what I think is the classic FJ40) or a typical NGO white. Your vehicle turned out absolutely amazing in Calvary Blue, not to mention your "mad skills" of doing this in a week.

Thanks. I kinda don’t really like it, to be honest. Maybe it will grow on me.

It looks incredible. Cant wait for the next 100 you paint

Paint the bumpers different colors to break up that solid blue? Perhaps the door trim in the same color as the bumper?

Perhaps the same color your head light/grill trim is? A contrasting red or yellow strip down the molding would pop.

I absolutely love it. The longer I look I wonder how black side moldings would look. But it’s great man.

Did I read earlier that you just used 3M VHB for the molding and didn’t get new clips?

Fabulous work! It really looks fantastic. If you want to break the color up a little more then I'd suggest the bumpers and sliders (I believe you mentioned those) in the same gray/black as the grill. Maybe the door moldings as well. I also think a good blackout would look awesome.

Regardless, that is one nice looking rig!

Love It!

I bet someone would step up and make the sacrifice and trade with you. 😄

Wish I had the time and skills to do that, I think it turned out great. Wasn’t sure about the color to begin with. I think the pictures look good, but the real proof would be to see it in person.

Great job in a short time.

Just as long as he doesn’t choose white as his contrasting bumper/trim color, unless he’s planning on a personalized license plate that includes the word “SMURF”

I think black bumpers and rack would make the blue pop more. The grey doesnt really work too well.

Man, that is incredible looking paint job, especially for an outdoor, 1 week rush job. Much respect for the talent and diligence to be able to pull this off.

I agree with other posters that on this particular shade, perhaps breaking up the blue with grey bumpers/trim would make it look better and also tie in the other grey accents (roof rack/wheels), just my humble opinion, though.

Again, it looks awesome, and I love the non-metallic!

I would go with that dark Evo Gray powder on the bumpers and side molding. I think body-matching with bold colors is tough. Black, white, silver.. that's easy. The vibrant or saturated colors (blue, red, etc) can be overwhelming. Knocking them back a bit with an accent color - like Evo Gray - seems to make the overall look feel coordinated instead of "dunked."

BUT - and it's a big but... "I" was the key word in that sentence. YOU killed this paint job. I'd swap paint in a second.
