Depends what you are dealing with. 2000 was fine today because the paint wasn't too hard yet. The 2000 scratches are removable with the compound I have, so I just used what I had. If you use 1500, then you have to go over it with 2000 anyway. When I would sand my VW's I would start with 800 dry on a DA sander. It would knock most of the orange peel down and then I would wet sand. I was going for glass smooth though, and trying to save time. There are some better ways to do it these days.Do you normally start wet sanding with 2000 grit? I’ve heard quite a few recommendations at 1500. What do you normally recommend?
We have better than Salsa Brava, glad you liked it though. I would totally paint these for people, not in my carport, but I would love to do this. Now that I know exactly how to disassemble the 100 series efficiently, It would be much less stressful.I was in Flagstaff earlier in the month. I loved the Salsa Brava restaurant.
