Hi, I'm a fellow fj55 enthusiast from australia.

1975 FJ55
2F, purrs like a tiger,
4 speed gearbox,
I bought it 5 months ago for $600 (australian dollars) thats bloody cheap.
It's on dual fuel, it now has a newer front bench seat to get roadworthy
Some rust in the usual spots, like front quarter panels, sills, front windsheild surround, rear quarters. I've cut out and welded a whole new peice on one quarter panel so far, and looks real good. The roof also has minimal rust, old roof liner has been ditched so the rust doesn't return, and the seams are getting re-sealed.
I also made a new stainless front exhaust pipe, and rerouted it so it runs along the chassis instead of crossing over/under, and an old straight through muffler of a motorbike.
In the process of getting it ready for registration, and while it's in bits for cleaning/fixing im painting the inside, then later on when the rust is properly fixed i will paint the outside too. Cobalt blue is the colour i chose.

Cheers, Dan.

I've been doing a lot of work on my piggy over the last 9 months, and im very proud of what i've acheived so far, before starting this i didn't realise i'd be doing so much to it before i got it on the road, and i didn't think i'd be capable of it, but i learnt as i went, just got stuck in and had a go.
This weekend is painting time, for the interior atleast, it's all patched up and looking quite nice, there's a few spots where i need to sand off some putty, once that's done and it warms up i'll get the primer on and hopefully have it fully painted on the inside by sunday arvo. The floor still looks in kind of ordinary condition but they're not ment to look pretty.
I'll upload a pic or two this weekend

Well, what i thought was only a little more preparation ended up taking most of the weekend, but i still had time for a coat of primer today, then i ran out of primer.
But i'll continue next weekend and hopefully finish the interior painting.

here's some pics.

Being new to the forums, I thought I would post pics of my Pig. This week it is getting a 350 with NV4500 5 speed tranny, I got a rebuilt 19 spline split style transfer case and all the adavanced adapter stuff to go with it. I have a 70 series full floating rear axle with and ARB locker. The lift is a 4" from Old Man Emu. I have 4 wheel disk brakes, an FJ80 master cylinder which arrives today. I also have a new set of aftermarket gauges from Classic Instruments so I can have an electronic programable speedometer.
The pics are from the trip my 5 year old son and I took to Arizona to pick up the rig. We drove it back through 113 degree heat then up over the Tioga Pass. We camped and had some gret fishing, pretty much the perfect way to start with the new rig.

Welcome to the trough Nat.
cool pig !

Fj55-100

Thanks!! The exterior/interior will get finished when the running gear/motor swap is all finished. Just as soon as the new motor is in, I am taking a Fall trip to the Sierra's to break it in.
