I got mine and I am excited to install it. I will put an iPad Mini on it. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how/where to connect the power cable to if I want to have it come out of the tape deck? Where do I connect the USB part to internally and how?
I connected mine to my Bluetooth audio adapter jammed behind the dash.
Thats a good idea. Unfortunately, my Bluetooth audio adapter is in my center console.
I just looked at it. Maybe I can reroute a cable to the center console compartment. The previous owner routed the audio cable somehow.
Finished the install today. It was pretty easy as advertised. Routing the charger cable through the center console was a bit finicky. But due to great information on this forum I managed even to do that.

Love seeing the photos guys! Make sure to post when you mount stuff. I'm always interested in what people manage to get on their mounts.
Finally got this installed. Mounted my Fire tablet and magnet mount for my phone. Tried the Ram X mount for my phone, but hated it since I couldn't do it one handed. Used the Ram magnet base as a phone holder. Works great.

Yeah, the bolt you provided worked. I did buy another longer bolt, but haven't swapped it out and not sure I'll need to.

Awesome! I upped the bolt length slightly in this last batch. I don't have two mounts so I wasn't sure if it was going to be long enough. Glad it worked.
Got mine installed this weekend. It is quite sturdy. Still waiting on a ball to be delivered. I'll post up some pics when I finally get set up.
Just noticed this new ball linked on your website. What are the specs on the nut/bolt provided?
I'm delinquent in mounting any RAM products despite the mount being installed for over a year...

The bolt is 3/8-16 x 3/4". If you have one of the original designs, I think the newer style ball will fit but I can't be certain.

I installed my mount in Dec 2017. I assume I have the original design?
I read back through most of the thread, but I'm not 100% clear on what the design change was? Regardless I'm going to try some things out and will report back.

You definitely have one of the firsts lol. The tongue was made a bit longer to allow the bracket to work on the GX as well. I believe I have one of the first brackets in my truck too and I have the angled ball. The nut is very close to the tape deck, but works.
wait what is that "factory use only" piece in the center console? Is that stock?
That is a BT-45 TOY. A device that lets me connect a Bluetooth device with the trucks audio system.
The previous owner had it installed and it works really good. I have no idea why it says “Factory only” on it.
Very nice. I hope someone comes up with something similar for the 200 series.
