This is a must-have. I'd like one too!

Sorry for the lack of communication everyone! I have 30 more brackets being delivered Tuesday. I'll drop them off at the coaters Wednesday and they should be read a week or a bit more from then. I'll post again when they're available.

I'd like one as well.

This is finally happening!

Done! Much easier install than what I expected.

If you’re using an iPad or iPhone or other equivalent device for navigation and have not done this mod yet, you are missing out. I held out doing this install for almost 2 years. I even had the mount and didn’t do the install as I also purchased a RAM floor mount for the passenger side (which I’ll say left it pretty much useless for having a passenger) and waited about 2 years to do this install. Having it done, I wish now I would’ve just went ahead and installed it when I originally bought it. Ram floor mount is coming out tonight!

I wanted to check in with this thread and see what everyone has attached to this? I am loving the crap out of mine! One of the best mods for our vehicles period! I am thinking about attaching something along with my phone that is mounted to this right now. Is there a cheaper/better tablet than the original posted in this thread? I am fully immersed in the Apple ecosystem, so Android is out of the question.

Went to do the install today, and failed. Got all the way to the end, where you remove the 4 screws and the things would not budge. I had prepared for it, knowing that I should use JIS, so I bought a JIS precision set, and the largest one (size 0) would not do anything. I tried to put vise grips on the handle to get some more leverage, but nothing.

Not expecting much, I tried similar sized phillips precision set and nothing. Pretty sure they are at least partially stripped from my attempts, but I started with the JIS and they would not turn. I had seen in an earlier post that a JIS #1 was what was used, but I would be heistant to think there would be so much of a difference between the 0 and 1 that it would allow the screws to turn.

Similarly, when I went to detach the black screws I needed to lock the s**t out of the vise grips around the nut-type edge to get the initial turns going, since the screwdriver did nothing. Once that inital turn was done, it was an easy hand twist. Unfortunately, there was no way I could do a similar thing on the tiny screws in the tape deck. Overall, it was a relatively simple process, but I must have gotten the tightest screw fastenings ever, and am a bit sad I wasn't able to complete it. I may try again with a JIS 1, but not entirely sure if it would even be doable with that.

Shoot. Did you figure this out? I had luck with just some basic screwdrivers. It's been a really long time since I've done mind though.

Was this just two of the angled ball mounts you recommend? Did it require a longer mounting bolt?

Yes and yes. The bolt is 3/8-18 @ 5/8 if i recall. I think you'd need an inch or more for two mounts. I believe he got that bolt at lowes

I'm using a similar setup but with the double ball mount instead of two angled balls

edit: i wouldn't recommend this and have taken it out. It isn't stable enough.

Can you post a pic? How does that mount to the media mount and let you mount something to each ball? I can't tell from the Amazon pic.
edit: i wouldn't recommend this mount though as it is not sturdy enough for a tablet and phone.
