No worries mate ! I am talking to Tom H. at the moment regarding front and rear lockers. I mentioned you put me onto his site.

At AUD $579.00 each (must buy two for that price), he is about AUD $280 cheaper per locker than the local guys here in Perth. That is a HUGE saving. Plus free shipping is another bonus.

Thanks V much Gwyn !!

Henry - hows it going with the Lokka?

and I put the exhaust on the other day and started it up - fire up straight away! Those little solar panels have been keeping that batteries topped up over our winter and the last 8 months!

Wow, coming down to the end! How does it feel to have restored a cruiser?

Technical hold: I have a front LSD and Tom doesn't have any to suit for about 2 months. Since I must buy 2 lokkas to get that price, I am waiting. Yes, the LSD is toast.

I bought a solar kit over a year ago and still haven't got around to fitting it.

It is getting there! Really feel like I have got through the worst, just a fair few small niggly bits which need doing. Things like brakes and steering..

It's written on the box! Also the springs are marked 4x4 Offroad Australia AKA Belton.

Yes.. The shocks and springs are Belton (and I hadn't noticed until it was pointed out on here....)

Hopefully I will finish the brakes off today!

It has been a while since I updated this; but things have moved along well!

I rebuilt the front brakes;

Wasn't such a bad job to do. Decided not to go for the later brakes from a 4runner (or Hilux Surf as they are called over here) simply because i figured it may make buying spares in countries with a language barrier more difficult!

Ryan (one of the guys who is coming with me) put a load of sound deadening / heat deadening in it.

Hi Jaxonm

Sorry for lack of updates, yes we are leaving in just under a month from Marble Arch Central London!

I've been mega busy, sorting visa's and the leaving event and final bits of sponsorship.
I have now finished my paid job, taken my girlfriend to uni (in Scotland) for the year so have some time to update this over the next few days so you can all see what I have been up to.

It is currently looking like this though....

(Apart from the new tyres that I got fitted today (at last some may say!)

More updates very very soon!

Hi all, thought you might like a little update from the trip. Sorry I haven't been able to update this thread very much - having far to much fun and internet connection is not always the easiest.

So we drove through France and Italy, caught a ferry to Tunisia and spent 8 days there before leaving for Libya (where filling the 195 litre tank cost approx $10USD!). After that it was onto to Egypt with a spot of dune bashing, not the easiest in a very heavy 2H (needed more power) but overall the '60 is doing very well.

Currently in Sudan, having driven around 9,000 miles / 15,000 km while most of the main roads here are very good, we have done some impressive tracks. The 4wdSystems suspension is really very good.

Here are some pictures to wet your appetite, but always more at OverlandintheSun Spreading the word of SolarAid from London to Cape Town

Thanks for the comment, it is truly stunning here! So far we have felt very safe, Sudan is one of friendliest places I have ever been to, the people are so kind. Always asking us if we are ok and if we need any help. We have been here for 3 and a half weeks and I think we have had to cook or buy are own food about 5 or 6 times as we keep being invited for dinner!

That is stunning. Good luck on the remainder of your trip!

Thanks for the comments! It really is stunning the the'60 is doing well!

Had some welding done on rear bumper today as the spare wheel carriers where breaking the bumper mounts. Looks much better now - some seriously skilled welders here in Africa!

Awesome mate, well done. I am so envious - might get the 'Long Way Down' DVD's out to watch again!

Met some Aussie on the boarder with Egypt - and yes they where in a Aussie registered '70! Which they shipped to South Africa.

So we are now in Kenya - the internet is rubbish in Ethiopia so having to do all the updates here!

In Ethiopia I got very good and changing tyres.... on one stretch we had 9 punctures over 130miles! Our Tyres had done 20,000 miles of African terrain by this point!
