Got the back door stuck on a tree, and modified it and the quarter somewhat. I also like truggies, this seemed like a nice compromise between them and the rules that we have to follow over here

Very cool Paul! The 80 is looking sick, its come a long way since I saw it last, love the ute chop!
Would love to have seen you race it, I'll have to try and make sure I have work off next time.

Where are you getting your tube from? I'm just about ready to start my cage and every steel supplier down here is clueless.

Fatz Fabrication is the guy to talk to. Will do bent kits that you can weld together yourself too. He did all of my tube work.

Otherwise "performance metals" sells seamless tube suitable for cages

Latest round of mods, pneumatic bumps and coilovers in the rear
image-3740609188.jpg
image-3942369893.jpg

So seeing as the rear turned out so nice with the coilovers and pneumatic bumps, we decided the front of the car should get the same treatment.
Part of this refurbishment includes removing the 8 inch front housing for a much beefier diff and the affor mentioned coilovers, gaining access to the front chassis meant removing the 3f

for good................ time for a new powerplant

so I got onto a killer deal for a Twin Turbo setup for a Lexus V8 engine and decided that the supecharger is gone! and this will be my new obsession

meanwhile I have started to get a move on with the 2uz

Engine assembly time, due to the boost, I have had to replace the rods and thought i might as well put new pistons too, so now has all the fruit. Forged CP pistons, Argo rods, ARP bolts, ACL race series bearings. should be a good thing

Dude that is nice! What axle are you swapping in? A Pootrol one?

New housing has arrived

Buds customs hybrid, pootrol centre with 80 series knuckles

Knuckle bracing

So this beauty is going under the front with coilovers and pneumatic bumpstops.
Also have a custom set of radius arms to go with this housing, so I need to get them all sorted, build some castor plates, install a panhard mount and coilover brackets to get this puppy under

So now I get to make use of the pootrol centre and air locker I have been sitting on

Also got a bit more done on the motor

Can't wait to get this thing in the car and see how it goes on the dyno

Been working on the engine too

image-1317437936.jpg

Basically engine is finished up to the heads, waiting on my head reconditioner, and looks like I have been ripped with my parts purchase, 10 months and nothing but excuses, so now my guy is custom making the parts for my heads

Cruiser is back on its wheels, I am working through the new brake lines, fuel lines and stripping out the original wiring for a complete rewire

Cheers
Paul

Still pushing ahead with this, albeit slowly

Back playing with the 1uzfe as an interim measure. Bolted straight up to my fully sick transmission and dropped it in

Cut the firewall a bit to allow it to sit further back.

Fatz fab then made me a new firewall to fill it back in. (Can't find the photo at the moment)

And finished my engine mounts

1uz in the engine bay

2uz has a 2 bolt bottom end and cast crank, but the iron block is stiffer so still pretty strong, good enough for 800hp or so
The 1uz with 6 bolt mains will cop about 1500 hp
