Swapped to a 50 series Flow today. Went ahead and cleaned up exhaust and added 2' of tailpipe. Now it dumps basically right under the tailgate.

How do you like the 50 series? I've thought about buying one in my old age after owning several 40 series.

I only have a handful of miles on it so far. My initial impression is; at idle and free rev, i don't think the note changed much. Maybe a bit on free rev.
In the car i immediately note more back pressure. Definitely better running down the rural highway. No more cackle on decel. ( I did fix a minor exhaust leak at the same time.). Cleaner, has that typically Flow sound to it. Ill drag it by soon so you can hear.

I had originally planned to go magnaflow but couldn't get past a couple reviews and im not a fan of a packed muffler. My old muff was 20+yo. It lived on two Zs and my 79 prior to the last 8 years. Lol. Welded muffler = good

Yeah I had magna flows on my 59 and I didn't have any complaints other than they were too quiet, not bad at wot though. I hate the sound of a turbo muffler and not fond of glass packs even though I'm running one on my nova right now. I'll take your old muffler if nobody else wants it. I'll throw it in my exhaust stuff pile. Maybe I'll put it on the Tundra, it's quieter than a Prius.

Some pics. Added a band clamp and some tape to my 2 to 1 coupler. I wasn't 100% sure i could fit the clamps on the small pipes so i didn't
I cut and tweaked the pipe to run more true horizontal. I tucked as high as i could, probably an inch at horsecolllar and heat shield ect. I was originally looking at a 30" muff but i don't think i would have fit it. As it is, the exhaust is one fully welded piece from the coupler back.

Moar. After some more milez i feel a definite improvement. Much quieter overall. Pretty much all drone is gone. Exhaust note on decel is much better. Got loud if i dropped from 4-5k. Cabin noise is probably under half of what it was. Going to run a fuel mileage (mpg) check shortly.

I managed to scale the truck this week. It really sucks not being able to read the display while parked on the pad. Anyway, weighs 4450 with me, an almost full tank and my recovery gear bag.
Me = 145
Gas = 115ish
Gear = 50
Truck must be 4150 dry.

Idk if this is better or actually worse. Lol

Couldn't handle looking at the huge dent any moar. Sooo...

I may break down and have a buddy hit it with the weld on puller tabs. Its damaged right on the body line.
