****. I just noticed my DS has front and rear dimple plates and my PS only has front. It never ends!!!!!

Oh man that's a real bummer, that's pretty obvious and hard to miss.

What are you going to do?

I ordered them without the rear plates. MT is sending me one for the PS and I'll have to pay to have it welded on so it matches the DS. Noticed they missed a weld, too, on one of the stubs. This is pretty ridiculous from a company that everyone says is so awesome.

Depending on how deep they penetrated, I guess you could always cut the other plate out

Glad you got it straightened out though

They are 20% off again which means the shipping is basically negated to the east coast.

Can't find that on their website???? Got a link?

I will admit, I did not read all 8 pages of this thread. I have these sliders on the 4Runner and they are a perfect fit. Anyone have any idea in the weight difference between these ( on the LX) vs. factory running boards?

Factory probably weigh 50lbs/pr and these are probably 215/pr. Passenger side weighs a lot more than driver side due to cat protection.

One thing I can say with a fair amount of certainty is that they're not light enough to self install!

Unless your a man like me. I installed the passenger side once and the drive side 3 times all by myself. You just have to nut up!

At least 100lbs! Factory running boards were no more than 25-30lbs a piece and these are just about 100lbs a piece average with passenger side being a lot heavier like other have already said.

Mine installed just fine by myself. I used my big floor jack in the middle and they balanced out ok once you get the legs against the frame. For what it's worth, I had one of the sets that weren't right and they sent me another set and took the old ones back. Metal tech was very good about fixing it. The second set went on in minutes. They are definitely heavy but are very nice and well put together.

Or in my case drop a nut! Maybe back in the day when I was a young, dumb, and spry I would have gone alone doing these but the closer I get to 50 the longer things hurt after the fact!

I purchased a set for my 80 and I am way more than satisfied. Self-install, with minimum grunting; use some jack stands and work it up in to place. I also happen to be fairly local to MetalTech, I picked them up locally and got to talk with a few of them, including the welder. I would never pay for the powder coating unless it is for a pavement princess, but why would you own a cruiser then... ;) I would recommend these OutPost sliders to any and all; I have bashed and bashed these things..

Does anyone running these think that bolt on is to flexy or weak compared to weld on? One of the local shops swears by weld on. But i will not be doing any serious rock crawling but do want true protection for when i get in over my head.

Weld on will make it a real PIA if you want to remove to refinish them when they get really scraped up...I see no issue with bolting them on.
