I recently switched over to winter air in my tires, and the ride is too harsh. I'm not going back to summer air until springtime. In the meantime:

Is anyone familiar with an air blend, or perhaps some other element, that when compressed and used in tires 1) will adequately support the weight of the vehicle and 2) provide a more cushy ride? I mean, there's gotta be a softer compressed gas that'll work.

I was going to use some liquid, but I'm hesitant to drill out my valve stems.

TIA.
It’s common for tire shops to use Nitrogen now, if you see green valve stems that’s why. Only application I’m familiar with that uses liquid would be calcium filled tires in ag equipment. They use it for added weight, not recommended at high speeds, could be interesting though.

I keep my nitrogen at 78%. Tends to have a good blend of give for my tires and truck weight.

If I still worked at McCarthy I could solid fill them for you but mix the formula wrong so it never hardened. That would give you a nice bouncy ride and if it could support a back hoe it could support a cruiser.

To really maximize the potential of the 78% Nitrogen Izzy runs, you should blend with approximately 21% oxygen and-now this is the key here- 1% Argon. Dial that mix in, set the proper pressure and you’ll be blown away by what a well selected tire can do.

In this age of "Know-it-all's" it is refreshing to look at a post and pause................and scratch my balding head and pause..............and realize I know nothing about this new fangled air blend that you speak of. I almost googled winter air blend but was too lazy. @little_joe I am glad you posted but more to the point, happy you explained it to me before I had to research.....haha! I was hoping I had to buy yet another tool to maintain my rig.

Guess my lame attempt at humor was just that - lame. Sorry.
Not at all, I was playing along too. Plain air is 78% nitrogen. One of those factoids that often people ask in driving classes "Is it worth it to use only nitrogen in your tires?" and I always say 78% is my favorite mix. Kids always laugh, adults always look perplexed.

When I raced my BMW, I did only used stratified, canned, imported bavarian air on my tires.

Just about every bag of chips is packed in nitrogen*. Next time, before opening that bag of Lays, insert a hypodermic needle and extract that pure, precious nitrogen :D

*this is actual fact, oxygen spoils the oils in snack foods quickly, so pure nitrogen is flushed into the bags before they are sealed. Some snack food plants manufacture the nitrogen onsite by compressing air in a column, then extracting it at the right position in the column for just the right amount of time to not pull any oxygen from the column.

I’m thinking of starting up a new diet. It’ll focus on eating only foods that various religions forbid eating.
So, I can think of the obvious ones: cow, pig, shellfish, booze, any meat with feet on Friday, but I’d love to hear some of the more obscurely forbidden foods.
Zoroastrian prohibitions perhaps.

Yep, the menu really has something for everybody! Zoom zoom.

dude is building a pretty good homage to the GT500 supras

guessing a real 503E is out his price range so a 5s blocked 3sgte can be a much cheaper replacement.

NEW TOW HOE, PARTIAL DD FOR ME AND CAMPING RIG.

So had this bad boy delivered on Monday. Now I can sell the Lexus. This will bey DD but not often as Andrea and I commute together these days.

Got it from my favorite used car salesman lol

Its a 99 F250 tow special, V10, manual everything, reg cab, long bed. I believe tow rating is 11k.

This will easily tow the bronco/crawler to the trails and was meant to tow the boat we got last year but we gave that away to a friend that had more time to sink into it.

With an 8 foot bed we can sleep in it when camping also.

Has 150k on it and the motor was supposedly replaced at some point also. These V10s have a few known issues but generally will push 400k with ease.

Drives nice, stops nice.... Slight shimmy at highway speeds but am getting alignment done next week.

This are the goods now the bads:
Sat for a while (all filters changed along with oil)

Coolant looks brand new so I left it.

Interior is typical work truck. I've cleaned it up a little but will need a new seat at some point.

PS mirror needs replacing. Newer tow mirrors will be sourced.

Drivers side washer nozzle doesn't spray, will need to blast some air throw it.

Other than that I'll be painting the wheels bed lining the bed and putting a camper top on it.

(Oh and new sound system)
