@NCFJ I'm finally putting your "vodka odor removal" method to the test. Sprayed down my favorite pair of shoes and have them in a garbage bag on the deck. Also sprayed the interior of a ridiculously expensive guitar case that has the common "cat pee syndrome" (bought previously infected). It's also living on the deck in direct sun. I'm not expecting much on the guitar case as I think all previous rank reduction techniques have probably only served to embed the stench further.

John, you will be pleasantly surprised

Picture that my wife took of the packages was stolen and used on Reddit. And subsequently ended up here: (it’s number 17)

Does this mean I’m competing?

...and, importantly, the towel. Wait a minute. You left that towel in the LX when I picked it up!

vodka and hot sun and it will be good as new!!

With our glorious leader's recent tariffs affecting the metal markets? $3-400 I'd guess. Last time I bought a sheet (4'x8') of 1/4" hot rolled it was approx $400, but that was two years ago.

How much should I expect to pay for 48"x48"x.25" sheet metal? Not stainless, not galvanized. @S4Cruiser @GLTHFJ60

You're best bet would be to buy a 4x8 or 5x10 sheet and split the cost with someone. I can ask my guy how much it would cost me if you would like.

Meh, tariffs...I'll take 3 please

Thanks @S4Cruiser and @GLTHFJ60 Sounds like a score! It seems Sarah found a piece that size for $50 (doesn't look too bad on either side). Waiting on the seller to tell me when to pick it up. I have no idea why she wants it, I mean my birthday isn't till February and I've barely even hinted that I want a welder.

Nice ! I did call my guy and a 4x8 sheet is ~225.

A 4x8 sheet of 1/4" hot rolled for 225? I need your guy to be my guy. Dillon supply has been bending me over the flatbed!

I've offered before! Tell me what you need, I get him to get a quote, we pay him and pick up ourselves at the Dillon supply near that fastenal in Durham. Maybe he gets a much better rate since he buys tons and tons of product from them.

I'm betting that his per pound price is low based on the literal s***-ton he buys each month. A 1/4 plate of A36 weighs ~330# so at 225 a sheet comes out to ~.68 per #. Not that low really if he's buying 10k pounds a month.
