The current 90915-20004 is of Thai manufacture. It is not the same as the 90915-YZZD3 OR the Japanese 20004. I have the Thai version at $8.75 a copy.
Oops. I should've specified "JDM" in my title.

What the disappointing thing is that the 4.0L Tacoma's come from the factory with the Japanese manufactured 90915-20004's which means they are still available and being made. We just can't get them anymore. Same with the big 15600-41010 filters.

Maybe we should send Mot over with a shipping container. I am sure that between Onur, Sam and Dan you guys can twist the arms of Japanese management. ;)

Ok, so we should start a buying 4.0 Tacomas, pulling the filters, then reselling the trucks for every oil change. Boom. Problem solved.

For us diesel guys you can get the 90915-30002's (JDM) in the states still but Yan can only get the Thai filter from the rest of the world (and it's more expensive).... Go figure

I live about an hour from where they build the 4.0 engine along with some other engines. Maybe they had a stash of them

4.0L for the Taco is the only one remaining that runs them. All of the other engines have gone to the canister style filter element.

They make the 4.0L at Bodine? :hmm:

Bring a few boxes of the Thai filters and do one of these. They'll never know the difference... or a giant boulder will crush you.

Walk around in a red shirt and a name tag and you might get through. I'd have to figure out where the filters get put on. It's a huge loud building. The most view I got was peaking through the door looking into the production floor

Just following up after receiving my shipment. A guy shouldn't be so excited about something as simple as an oil filter. Anyway, they came today and they're the real deal.

Those look just like the stash in my garage....:)

Has anyone used the TRD oil filter # PTR43-00080 in their 1FZFE yet? Construction appears to be conventional however with three layers of synthetic media.

Sold my 93 LC and just picked up a LX470. Still have a case on hand. Any chance these will work on the 4.7 ?

Factory installed filter for the 4.7.
