Big thing. Remove the chrome around the rain gutter (it just pops off). Carefully inspect the rain gutter caulk for cracks, especially down along the A-pillar. If it's cracked anywhere, you'll need to dig it all out and re-caulk. If left alone with cracks, moisture will get in there and rot out the rain gutters, which is a particularly difficult place to repair.

Along those lines, if you're in it for the long haul, go ahead and replace the windshield gasket and the rear quarter window gaskets so that you can inspect those areas as well. If the seal fails, you get what you see in the hatch.

Beautiful rig :D

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks @GLTHFJ60 !

If you call it that does everybody gets a piece of it?

You want to take care of this ASAP this is not just rust, it's cancer

Totally agree

Use seam sealer on the gutters. Don't use just any old caulk and do not use silicone! 3M seam sealer does a good job.

What's wrong with silicone? I filled in the nutserts after pulling the rack off my 80 with silicone...

Added this LHD HJ45 to my cruiser family.

Now that is veeeeerrryy nice!!
Thanks! It's a pretty good 10 footer. It runs and stops, but it needs a good amount of work. @Trollhole will probably have it for a while. In spite of the H engine, and the HJ45 in the title, the PO is convinced it is a BJ45.

Ha! Did you point out the 2 extra cylinders?

If the 44 has taught me anything, it's that electrical is really just an option. You don't really NEED it.

Silicone contains acid. Acid eats metal. Never use silicone on metal. Add a little moisture and the situation gets worse. Seam sealer is the better choice and does not contain silicone.

Beautiful 45! You did well.

Very nice Jeremy, looks to be worth the wait.

Congrats on the find Jeremy. Looks like a solid start from here. Can't wait till you have her up and running for a proper preview
