then the next investment is a rather expensive one....lifting the front end to match. and the one after that....tires to fill up the newly exposed fenderwells.

I'm already on the slippery slope with 3 other Toyotas in the driveway, I dont need another one right now. LOL

Local dealer with whom I am friends with called me this morning to tell me he had gotten this in and invited me to come pick it up for the weekend as he knew i had never driven a GX. I at first said i would drive it for an hour and bring it back but after an hour decided to keep it as offered....2011 with 125k miles....offered to me for $21,600. Not big on the black on black but it's growing on me....

The 97 80 could be interesting. Just laughable he has it listed at 'below blue book' as fair condition..... which one would normaly assume would include a running motor. And not a 40th but Sam has the right idea. Fresh interior and repower and vroom vroom

I have to wonder if the crank nut didnt hit 306 ft/lb and thats why it lost pressure. Just no easy way to know how much damage was done :/.

The 97 is way over priced for sure. Personally I would consider the motor toast. The price will come down in a month or so. Lots of "donor" 80s for sale right now, motor running or not.

@JToobe - quite the collection you have now

If we were to decide to go for this our 2007 Avalon would be a trade towards it and that would make us an all Toyota SUV family minus oldest daughters Subaru Forrester......working on getting Red 88 62 ready for sale. Looks like I have a local buyer! I steered someone in Atlanta to you who posted he was looking for a Grey 62.

I thought the same thing Sam. If it is still around a month or so from now I'll offer him $500 with final price no higher than $800. Some go for it , others hold on and re list in 4-5 months.

seems like all @JToobe needs now is something from the first decade of the 2000s :)

Ha, I originally asked Tim to be on the lookout for 2007 Land Cruiser.....I still may hold out for that instead of this, but dang if this doesn't drive nice!

I do have to say that seeing @little_joe 's GX perform at the first Hurricane Creek trip I went on back in May caused me to give the GX a look!

We love our Avalon, great vehicles to buy used, most new buyers are older folks that take great care of them. New Years Day 12:20 AM we just left a freinds house, not a half mile down the road is a traffic stop with 6 cop cars and State Police standing everywhere. Stopped the two cars ahead of us and had several pulled over going both ways. The Statey just waved us through. Don't think that would have happen if we were in a Mustang.

No doubt it's been a great car for the 3 years we have had it! My dad bought one in 2006 and is still driving it.....driving his led me to buy one. Not set on buying the GX and giving it up quite yet....will see how wife and I feel by Monday.

@JToobe you need to do what my wife's boss did for 10 years. He bought a used car lot and kept it for so long and a good part of the reason is that he could drive whatever he wanted and time. He also loved buying cars all the time, my wife managed the place for 8 years, now manages another business for him.
