the gx470 a little smaller, id say about 15/16 the size of a 100 series. physical size is about the same as an 80 series. compared to an 80, more first row legroom, more 2nd row legroom, 3rd row is slightly smaller, but can probably fit two sub 10 year olds. not much room behind the 3rd rows for storage at all (my 3rd rows came out the morning after i bought mine). No tools required to remove them. There is a lack of storage space in center console and rear. it has the swingout rear door, no hatch/tailgate.
plus side, its got two cupholders in the front of the center console. two retractable cupholders inside the center console, and two retractable cupholders in the middle row armrest....everyone knows its all about the cupholders.
If youre looking to mod it with sliders, bumpers, etc., there isnt a whole lot out there yet. But, there have been a bunch of products that have come out in the last 6 months, with more on the horizon
When i was looking at 100 series, i drove both the vvti and non vvti engines. I believe 2005 or 2006 was the changever to vvti. go for the vvti motor. you can actually feel it in the seat of the pants. Slee has a great writeup on buying a 100 series. They made about 4x the number of lexus lx470s than they did the toyota lc. they figured out they could make a bunch more money putting the pink pantaloney emblem on them. Exterior, I like the grille/headlights and trim of the LC vs the LX, but the LX has a nicer interior. The Lexus trucks are "usually" better maintained, usually by a lexus dealer. You can look up the VIN of any lexus on their website and it will tell you whats been done within the network.
Locally, stay away from Impex, and JT's in Sanford (I think thats the name). Both have a lot of 100s and 120s pass thru, and they arent always what they seem...
