I recall that one being for sale for a while as well.... However i dont recall all the recent maint items listed now

Yeah. That trip he took to Daytona "as recently as February" was actually February of 2015. I've really struggled with whether to go look at this truck. It looks nice. Got the lockers. Fresh paint and he's throwing in the new seat leathers. I just worry that 250K miles the engine might be towards the end of its useful life. With my luck I would buy it, install a lift, bumpers, tires, etc and then it would roll over and die on me.

Are you becoming another club collector Dave?

Not your typical shackle reversal:

Fairly sure there isn't a SUV on the planet worth 8k with 250k+ on it unless it has a ton of money in tasteful mods that you would want anyway.

Looking for a replacement rear glass for my '87 FJ60. Anybody have one or have ideas where I should look?

The local auto glass place couldn't find it in their system, so they called Toyota and the cost for just the glass is $505.

Sent a message to an old Co-worker at safelite and they said they can get it, in the Charlotte area.

EDIT: they actually looked up WS instead of the back glass. She is going to check again and get back to me.

And yep, dealer only. They just aren't high volume enough for aftermarket companies to keep making them after all this time.

If you have full coverage on it and a good glass deductible it is actually a good thing though as you will get OEM glass through them for free or for half the price of it.

Most glass policies in NC are a $250 deductible on average but you would have to check to see what your's is.

Check autotrader and national average for price and miles, it is crazy on 100 series trucks.

Heeeeeee's back
1997 Toyota Landcruiser

This guy pumped the motor and blew it up. I spoke with him about 8 months or so about it. He went on telling me about how great it ran, then shot a rod through the side of the block at 7 lbs boost.

But hey, it has a great turbo set up and a great DVD player

"Never been off-road, but I redlined it at the drag strip the other day and blew a rod through the block, BUT never off-road..."

He has a thread on 80s tech. Admitted it wasnt setup just right and had to wait for afr to settle before getting into with stock ecu. Said he turned up the boost then it blew and he disappeared.

Seems decently represented and ive seen much worse prices but its a small project willing target audience. Id be intersted at 1500 without the trailer hitch and $1000dvd setup lol

He was amusing to talk with, the fact that it threw a rod totally eluded him. Kept telling me how cool the turbo set up was. I told him all I wanted was the rolling chassis, he can keep the turbo and really cool DVD setup. There are just too many 80s out there that run to mess with it for most people.

There is another in a wrecking yard in GA with a blown motor and the guy wants $3.6K I wished him luck.

I offered him $1K when I talked with him. Same thing, he could keep the DVD, turbo etc.

I am spoiled, I have $3,900.00 into purchasing 5 80 series. Heather's is one of them. Two of the rollers are already sold so I will have a bunch of 80 parts in the near future. I am patient and can wait for the next blown motor or trans 80 or 60 to come along.

We are still looking for a 7 seat'r as a family wagon. I think we are to the point of getting a 100 as a family car and keeping it stock.

This one is a possibility. I think it is a little high, but love the color and it does have the rear locker.

50/50 chance we go look at it the AM. Anyone want to go look at it with us tomorrow AM? Anyone have any history on it like looked at it already, etc?

Dont know anything about it but Id ask about timing belt/water pump records

I would like to see some pics of the turbo setup. There are likely a few usable pieces in there. If the truck looks like it is coming your way let me know and we can chat about me offsetting your purchase price.

And it comes with a sweet YETI sticker :)

To Jason:

I have. He doesn't have a specific date, so it would be a little over due :) I think it would need all new fluids as well, but i can check with the dealer. Explained that the price was higher than I had hoped for and I think it is about $2K too high with needing more maintenance.
