4Runners make awesome Colorado type vehicles. With good tires they can do any trails we'll be tackling in September, for sure. Jeff's Tacoma is almost the perfect setup for the passes in Colorado- capable, roomy, relatively efficient on fuel, and comfortable (cruise control, yeah!!!). Our main vehicle for years in CO was an 87 turbo 4Runner with auto trans- not much power but big enough for four people when needed and sure footed on the trails.

I've seen what happens when Steve gets his hands on a truck. If there's a hill he can't climb, he'll bring the 4Runner back on 37s with a crawl box.

So, sure Steve! You can rent one.
