I'd be down for camping if there's
A good spot somewhat close to town?

Put us down a definite maybe! Looks like getting a hotel is the popular choice, but we'd be interested in camping if anyone's camping.

We are most likely camping as well if people are going to be spread across different hotels anyway :)

I'd be a camper if I make it and others will.

Awesome! Primitive camping would be our preference and and if anyone has any special insight as to where we might all find a nice secluded spot, we're all ears. We'd do a campground too as long as the sites are relatively secluded. The two that stand out are Amphitheater, which doesn't appear to do reservations and Ridgway State Park, which is about 16 miles out of Ouray. There's a KOA, but that looks a little too commercial and they might not allow our hounds...

Ridgway is worth the travel time if you'd like some amenities. The amphitheater is nice and a little further South on 550 are some dispersed spots just South of Ironton and the turn off for Corkscrew gulch.

Agreed on the secluded/primitive if that worked for the others who wanted to camp. After decades of counting grams and backpacking things seem limitless now HAHA. We'll be dragging an XV2.

Dude - I love that thing. Had a body shop guy tell me today that Rhino liner is extremely flammable up to 6 months after its sprayed on a surface (6 month cure time). If that box up front is or has been rhino lined - kinda looks like it - (or similar product) be careful around that cook top. I don't know this to be true but it sure is worth inquiring. Nice set up!

It's very tempting trip. I am trying to convince my wife to come along. Are dates finalized?

labor day weekend

Sounds good. For how many days? First post says Sept 4-7. Where we meeting? Game on. I am looking for places to stay. My wife has to confirm her vacation request tomorrow.

I'm getting there on the 7-3-15 and heading back 7-7-15. We'll be ready for a beer as soon as we get there. From the info I found the Ouray Brewery is open until 9:00pm and Colorado Boy pub closes at 8:00.....just saying

Yes everything closes early it seems. Which makes camping more tempting. I think u mean 8/3 - 8/7. Or at least I hope. I'll update first post with days and initial schedule

You guys all mean 9/3 thru 9/7, right;)

Good catch eagle eye - I meant to reply 9-3-15 to 9-7-15. I only have so many fingers to count on

I mean 9/3 - 9/7 too HAHA. I hope that's what everyone was talking about!

Hi all. I can tell you that I tried to get with the 100s in the hills lasted year but they declined. I've done ouray for three straight years in the 200. The last two years at the Summit. I will miss this year. Heading to Europe for two weeks.

Black bear will be fine stock. Just spot to keep from maring the running boards. Here is a pic on the way to Black Bear Steps.

Last year Cristo and I ran together on a few trails. I met another mud member last year on the trail in a silver 200 rigged- but I forgot his user name.

I thought it would be awesome to have a 200 event. More and more folks will begin to rig up as they get older I suppose. Here is mine.

It is 18 hours for me. I could probably do September but kids could not miss too much school. Best to do during summer but that is a busy time. Telluride and Ouray with Silverton mixed it is a great area.

I spoke with Amory today and passed along the invite to him and Chirsto about the 200's in Ouray for labor day.
So, we may or may not run into them while we're out there.
