Any you guys feel the oem brakes are too spongy? Anyone upgraded to the DBA rotors or found other upgrade to improve feel?

My wife cooked the rotors on the 200 before I took it over. Brian Jowett put a rotor caliper upgrade package together for me with parts from the Tundra. I also use Centric Ceramic pads. It you want more bite try Centric HD pads.

If you're going to run larger tires or do heavy towing, go with the Tundra brakes. To improve the feel of the stock brakes, try stainless lines.
The front lines are the same as the 2006 100 series. (Much easier to find) The rear lines connect fine, but the mounting locations are different, so it takes some finagling (sp???) to get them lined up. I found some that were +2" to account for the lift and extra width, Goodridge, made in england. Took most of the sponginess out. Still harder to stop 80lb wheels, but at least its a linear, steady push.

Took the wife wheeling today....on Segways with nobbies. Gotta love Virginia.

we had to take the road to get to the trails.

How loud does the radio go? Does it go to 100? I have just had it up to 50.

2014 200
I think it goes to 60!?!? I like it at about 53!

Thanks. So, it must be set up to where you can't blow the speakers out. That's nice. My Tahoe was the same way.
I am having a hard time getting used to the full range of sound not coming out of the front door speakers. (the ones by your feet)

17" wheels group buy? This is just a question but after seeing desert nomad's rig with those 17" wheels that are available in other markets, I wonder if we could get enough people to chip in that it might be worth it and cheaper than rock warriors to ship these babies stateside. I wonder if any of our regular vendors have considered this.
I would buy a set of 5 and I haven't even bought my 200 yet:).
Are there any other 17" wheels that fit and are more affordable than those rock warrior rims?

My personal favorites:

Octagon

Unfortunately, the shipping is crazy expensive. It would almost be cheaper to fly to Australia and check the wheels as luggage on the return flight. :(

has anyone ever tried these in a vehicle? If so, how'd you like them?
Canvasback Custom Cargo Liners

it doesn't look like they make them yet for a LC200 but I bet they would if someone was interested or nearby for measurements...

If you find some willing to do custom work best is to do this. Really useful for camping or additional storage plus water/dirt proof

found this on CL yesterday - though someone may be interested in trying it out considering the price reduction - no affiliation with this add but I am curious how it would change the vehicle after installation was finished.
Unichip performance chip

So I'm curious how high from ground level are the breathers on the LC200.
The 4Runners are all at decent height except the rear diff, it's right on top of the clamshell, only about 1.5-2' off the ground...

Is there a need for any breather extensions on the LC200 to get them to around the same height as the air intake "& fuseblock height?

ARB makes some

They could be higher in my opinion.

No need to go out and buy a kit; just go to the hardware store, and buy a few feet of fuel line and a male/male connector, and a few stainless steel hose clamps. Cut the existing breathers, and add the male/male connectors to extend your breather lines. The rear will be the easiest, but I have no idea how to get to the breather on the center diff. Anyone know?
