After a 3100 mile round trip and two trips this week to Cincy I'm seriously thinking about picking up some more road friendly tires for my daily driving. I like the trail grapplers and they are great but a man needs two pairs of shoes. How are cooper ST MAXX...anyone have a report on them?
If it's the vibration/noise the coopers have them too, if you'll run two sets of tires you can probably do a highway teerain or softer at tire, the AT3 from cooper have 70/30 bias opposed to the st maxx 50/50. Michelin also have an AT that's more road biased

These are noisy buggers

When my 4R was a DD, I ran Cooper AT3's and loved them on and off road. They're quiet on pavement and way more aggressive off pavement than they might appear (I'm now running Cooper STT Pros on that rig and they are not so quiet, but it's not a DD anymore.) Prior to the AT3's I had Firestone Destination AT's which were similar to the AT3's. While I had no complaints with them, I'd go with AT3's unless for some reason they weren't available and I'd needed them in a hurry.

Go with the toyo At2 Willy! Great on/off road.

I'm very happy with my set of Yokohama Geolandar AT/S, smooth and quiet on the road and pretty decent in mild offroad. I have them in stock some on stock wheels, very reasonable price as well.

Funny you say that because I was looking at that very option. There are a few 37's out there in the width as my current tire. Only a test fit would reveal any diameter fitment issues.
Oh well

Do it.

And when you figure everything out, I will buy a set.

It appears my local Hyundia dealer would like to buy my Land Cruiser and get me into an upgrade- a new Hyundia Tucson! Hmmm..tempting- lol

Yes, you can install the tray upside down as long as the legs will clear the (now hanging down) lip. Downside is the labels will be upside down, there will be no lip on top (not really an issue as you mentioned), and may not be able to use the table slide. Upside is an extra inch to fit in your garage. I was prepared to do this if I couldn't fit in the garage, but luckily I could.

BTW: love the Front Runner. Some of the others are nice as well, but I really like how modular the FR is and easy it is to bolt stuff to it.

Good to know about flipping it to gain some clearance. Fine at home, but nail the hanging rail at work. Just need about 1/2" to and inch. Need to see if I can get the building engineer to help me out. :)

I'm curious if anyone in this forum owns and tows an airstream with their LC? If so I'd like to hear how the LC performs and what model airstream you have and how you like it. Thank you in advance.

Brake pads:
I run Centric ceramic on all 4 corners that I got through Brian Jowett. They have good feel and they MUCH cleaner than the Centric HDs I had before these.

Guess this qualifies as chat or BS, so I'll post here.....

It is a 200 series topic regardless of the next sentence. Recall the 100 series 4.7 L engine was made in Japan and manufactured slightly different than the engines found in the Tundra and Sequoia. Wondering about the 200 series 5.7 L land cruiser engine. Is it the same engine and manufactured in the same plant as the Tundra/Sequoia engine? No specific reason for wanting to know.....just curious.

Yes. The 200 series engine is blueprinted in a separate Japanese factory, IIRC.

No. The LandCruiser engine is not made in the same plant as the Tundra/Sequoia engine.

HTH

The crew at Jimmy johns told me I had a bad ass Tacoma. Word dude, get met Vito and I'm gone.

thought I'd share what I think is the best quote on craigslist today - too funny

"IF YOU ARE A DEGENERATE CRAIGSLIST SCAMMER, DO NOT TEXT ME ASKING FOR MY PAY PAL INFO. I PRAY THAT THE FLEAS OF A THOUSAND CAMELS INFEST YOUR ARMPITS & CROTCH."
