A friend and I were in a diner a while back eating breakfast and I had driven my 79 Series (with a factory snorkel / raised air intake). A few tables over was an elderly gentleman and when the young waitress brought over his coffee, noticed my truck. She asked the gentleman if he knew what that “black thing” was sticking up the fender. He looked around and without hesitation said he knew exactly what it was. He told the young waitress that it was a periscope and allowed the driver to see under water.
So you may have a snorkel, schnorkel or a dorkle but I have a periscope.

where in the world can I find one of these?my 75 has a the intake. was like, cool. already got the RAI (raised air intake)....but it was sheet metal screwed into the fender with no connection to the actual intake, just aesthetic.Depends on the year/model. In the US it was a 'Desert Air Intake'. In other markets it was certainly a snorkel or schnorkel as @Honger pointed out. Always makes me giggle

Do you need the actual air cleaner housing or the connection between the air cleaner housing and the snorkel assembly?
the air cleaner filter housing itself, the one with the "guzz-intah" hole clocked in the correct location. currently, have the stock location setup with it pointed toward the headlight-ish"
