I am getting ready to replace a muffler on one of my 80 and thinking about going back with an oem. Are there any comparable quiet muffler out there that is close or even better? TIA

The fit of the Bosal is awful. Some have had success with them. Many others have had to reweld the hangers.

There are 2 rubber "holders" between the muff and body. Check them out too. Mine were still ok.
The gaskets are crush type. You can always get 2 sets just incase.

I got a random flowmaster installed, I've been annoyed with it ever since. I wish I would have stuck with OEM, mine is much more louder and annoying.

I let my muffler guy worry about it. I just tell him I want it to sound like it used to without the holes.
