Safety systems should function the entire articulation range of the suspension. So when you’re rolling down the highway with 1,000# of tile in the trunk and the front is pointed to the sky, they should still function.
Yes they should, and they probably will. But it makes sense that the "zero point" should be adjusted to the new stance, since you could still put 1000# of tile in the truck with the spacers in front and have the nose higher than it would have been otherwise.

Follow up question. Did anyone had to re-adjust headlights after this small lift at front. I don't want to blind oncoming traffic.
I did, though on my 13 it is as easy as turning the little knob on the left side of the dash. 16+ trucks replace this knob with a height sensor on the rear axle, so doing the same thing as I did for lift in the front requires manual adjustment of the headlight assemblies.

If you have the 16+ LED housings, a word of caution.. some people have gone crazy with the adjusters and had them disconnect internally. Not a good day. I would advise doing some research to see what problems others had with the adjustment.

I will not do an adjustment. I have put tape on the wall where top of the light is when truck was parked 10 feet away. After an adjustment the light was roughly an inch higher so don't feel substantial enough to mess around with it.

An inch above level at 10' is a LOT. As I recall the factory measurement is 20.9mm below the level line at 3 meters distance.

Looks great! Can I ask how many of hours of labor for the install and the part numbers? I have the same HE and would like to lift the front just a little. Thanks .

Just got my back. It is 3 hours of labor + alignment. So not a cheap upgrade but definitely see a difference. My dealer is $152/hr

Can you please explain the factory measurement you are referecning? 10' is roughly 3 meters. At that distance light line is no more than an inch higher which is roughly the 21mm you have mentioned. I am trying to figure out how to apply what you said to the outcome I see after the spacer install and if I am out of acceptable level. Thx

Presumably those two lines are parallel.

My thought is that if your lights are aimed higher than spec, you are more likely to bother other oncoming drivers.

Do what you like. I'm not the headlight police.

Folks always search for pictures to see the difference before and after. First picture is before I have added spacers (dry outside) and with it (wet day). Now need bigger tires.

I didn't measure center line. I marked where the upper horizontal light cut off line is. That shifted up by roughly an inch from 10 feet away.
If you extrapolate that out it is 30" higher at the distance of a football field.. possibly more if we account for imprecise measuring ability at the 10' distance. With the very sharp beam cutoff of 16+ LED headlamps I predict you blinding oncoming drivers at a rate much higher than before.

Personally I'd fix it. An inch at 10' is a pretty big adjustment.

I will give couple weeks to let shock saddle again and then may need to go through calibration per earlier link. Before I do it probably I will do the distance test at night to see how it looks like from football field away.

I am currently at a toyota dealer getting the front coil spacers installed on my 21 HE. I suspected that alignment will need to be done after the install and they have confirmed that. They are saying that safety system may need to be recalibrated and they will know it only after the install if the system gives an error. That is an extra 3 hours of labor. Did anyone had an experience of requiring to have safety system recalibration after the front OEM spacer install?

Completely makes sense. We drive with a$$ down often. Will see how the saga plays out.

Curious what came of this. Considering the spacers on my ‘16, but don’t want this to turn into a nearly $1k level kit if radar and all needs calibration. Thanks!

Made no changes. Decided to see if people flash me thinking that I am driving with high beams. Didn't experience a single case yet, so assume no change is needed.

No radar recalibration either?
No recalibration. The mechanic said that the lift was too small. Land cruiser has pretty wide tolerance spectrum since it move us up and down a lot during driving and breaking. Have not seen any errors either. Since then I have changed tires to 275/65r18 and still no issues.

I had the spacers put in quite a while ago and made no headlight adjustments. Only recently I’ve noticed being flashed a number of times by drivers thinking my high beams were on. I have airbags in the rear suspension which raises the rear slightly, so the rake of the truck isn’t that much different than stock, so I really didn’t think an adjustment would be necessary...now I’m second guessing that. Mine is a 2016 so no easy adjustment.

The low beams are so bright that it could be unrelated to the coil spacers. Anyone else noticed getting flashed by drivers with low beams on?
