That brings the installed setup to $825 + shipping the mounting kit from AU.......that's probably break-even with the price of an ARB twin after you fuss with the wiring and fuses for it.

Wouldn't you need to swap pulleys on either the AC/balancer or that compressor so they could all run on the same loop together?

Not sure I have an email to endless for more info.
GOOGLE ARB twin is not a reliable compressor add in a thermo cut out at 198° I would look elsewhere. A engine compressor is almost twice as fast as the ARB twin.

Oh I'm well aware that they aren't even comparable.....except apparently in price which is awesome!

Please let me know what you find out from Endless Air, thanks for chiming in on this thread.

What is this that I see about OBA for the diesel? Who is selling what? @NLXTACY ? @LandCruiserPhil ? JUST SELL ME A UNIT!! PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY!!!! Don't make me come and visit you guys :flipoff2: Joey. You are actually in danger of being visited as we will be headed to Anza Borrego and then heading north. You do not want to experience a German who has not showered in a week.

Yeah, I saw that one. Contacted them but they could not provide me any photos of that the mount or unit looks like. I have so much crap going on under the hood that I need to see it before I buy. And the dude was not particularly interested it seems. All I wanted was a pic of the mount. To this day the best answer I got from them was "Yeah the vehicle is too old so no photos." To which I replied "Open the faken box and snap a pic you faken c......" Im a bad bad man :hillbilly:

I scoured the web for a photo but all I could really find was this one and its not one of their mounts.

They replied that their mount goes on the other side. THE OTHER SIDE OF WHAT????? The ac compressor? The motor??/

All I want is an engine driven OBA. Why? I DONT KNOW. I JUST WANT ONE AND IM TO DUMB TO MAKE ONE :flipoff2: Im getting rather emotional. I think Im just going to buy a set of your gullwing window inserts.

If you are around here then you better stop by. I can formalize a decision to make it or not.

@NLXTACY when you can sell a $50 bracket for $400+ it should be a no-brainer!

As an engineer with a shop this is the kind of thing I'd love to do. But it would certainly necessitate taking out my AC for a while as I scratched my head around it, and that would take out the beer cooler in the center console. Then there would actually be a real problem on my hands: No beer cooler, which means suddenly my wife would get involved.......

You know, now that I think about it, my trying to do it myself is actually a great way to make buying the bracket after a few weeks of "trying" a non-debate in my house.

This is all to say that I'd rather buy a damn bracket than fuss with making one.

Well...

That $400 bracket DOES come with an OEM idler and adjusting bolt, an OEM belt and a CNC machined 3-groove pulley. It’s all about the accessories 😜

Thanks for the update! Where'd you get this new bracket and what exactly are all the other pieces of the puzzle?!? I'd really like to get moving on this since I need to recharge my AC system anyway...

What are you guys using (or intending) to use the air for that this much cost and effort are worth it?

Air lockers seem an obvious one but beyond that the only things I can think of would be tools or tires. With battery tech what it is these days battery tools seem the way to go. My Makita battery impact gun is a beast. Granted, I work in construction so already own a bunch of batteries.

As for airing up tires, I suppose my 12v compressor has always been just fine for me.

What am I missing?

Complete kit or just main parts for the DIY. We are using a modified Sanden 508 8cfm compressor.

Personal needs
I air down a lot and currently, it takes me 10 minutes to air up and for most that would be fast. To reduces the air up time and recapture the room my current setup takes up is worth it for me. Our first client will be using a system to fill all four tires at the same time with a preset pressure. Just plug in and when the compressor shuts off all four tires are at exactly 35psi and its time to go.

DIY is fine....but you also have a complete kit? Sanden or York?

Evan, cost is on par or potentially even much cheaper than a 12V compressor that can do 37s in a reasonable time, minus long term maintenance on yet another motor.

I also put third row seats in my HDJ so I don't have internal room for a compressor, nor do I want to hear it.

Fair enough. Some of the trips I've taken with groups I chuckle at how many times they stop to air down and up. Like, if we're hitting 10 miles of dirt it's time to air down. Then 10 miles of pavement and it's time to air up. Rinse and repeat. Shrug.

I've never actually timed how long it takes me with my 12v compressor to get all 4 from 15-20 psi back up the 35 but I'd guess it's in the 15 min range. Usually I'm just basking in the enjoyment of a good run and inspecting the truck while the tires air up.

I'm only on 35s so I could see bigger tires taking longer for sure. Or folks with beadlocks that air way farther down. Lowest I ever bother to go is right around 15.

I'm not sure what you mean on maintenance, though. Are you talking about the compressor motor or the trucks motor?

Recently I did a 37 fill test
Brand new Viair 450 8 1/2 minutes for 0 - 50psi
10 year old Puma under 5 minutes 0 - 50psi

With a ton of rigs running 37's and up there is a need for hi performance air.

We are also a distributor for Extreme Outback and arguably the fastest 12/24V compressor available and a belt driven compressor will easily beat it.
