Those OME shackles go a certain way, make sure you do that right. Many get that wrong.

There is another style of three point shackle that go on the other wY. Ther are made to provide anattachment point for a tow bar for flat towing.I actually have a set of em on the green one in the shop.

These new u bolts look way too long...am I crazy?

They are 3/4" longer than the stock that came off...

Wow.
Dude you are my hero!

That's it for today. Have to go pick up a tap and dye set for a few bolts that broke and got drilled out. Mostly for the bump stops.

List for tomorrow is mount the new bump stops, attach suspension to frame, and possibly mount the motor. I have all new bolts for all the shocks, as well as all new bolts and bushings for the engine mounts.

And the JIS hardware kit is sweet...well worth the $300.

Still can't get over the frame. Looks factory new.

First few of the frame, last of a few of the new JIS bolts.

Prolly want to leave those u-bolts just a little lose till you get the springs mounted up under the frame.

Thx, had read that while boning up on the swap. They are just hand tight right now.

Impressive. Keep the pics coming.

I'm assuming you take some form of speed.

Ha, will do and thanks.

No speed here, just kind of have an addictive personality. When I start on something I stay at it full tilt until I'm done. Plus, something tells me that all these big pieces are the easy part...that once I get the chassis ready things will really slow down. And that's fine, i want this to take a while.

Bingo. I'm the same way and yes....you are correct.

I don't see the need for cutting down the u-bolts :meh:

Just one more thing to take your time and one more thing that could get complicated quick.

Frame looks awesome!!!

EDIT: Nevermind... Forgot these are spring under with the u-bolts down...

Yes, cut them as flush as you can. The rocks will screw them up quick.

Ok, want to make sure I get the shackles on right. I see two ways that they could actually fit, so honestly I'm just guessing here...

First pic is front, 2nd is rear.
