Yeah, to add to that point, if you plan on getting aftermarket (or scratch built) bumpers at some point in the future, makes sense to do the body lift before you do that so you can space the bumpers up (if possible) or custom design them to raise up with the rest of the body for better approach/departure. Or at the very least, cut the plastic in the right spot.

It's a slippery slope!

A couple photos from the most recent 1.5” kit installed in Central America. He said he installed his “a little differently”. He said he “didn’t remove bumpers, just cleared foam underneath and they stretched perfectly.” So a possible shortcut to the install.

Agreed!

It also greatly improves serviceability of things like suspension, starter, UCAs, aux tank, winch...

A great functional mod with little to no compromise.

To those with front ARB bumpers, my bumper allows about ¾" to an 1" of adjustment. Mine is installed on a LX and I had to install it to its lowest position to not interfere with the headlight washers when cutting the plastic. I'm not sure whether it's the same situation with the LC, but it's worth checking out if one has an ARB bumper and is interested in the body lift.

bumping this up. How is everyones body lift doing? What rear brake lines are you guys running? Tundra or actual extended?

Doing great. The longer I have it, the more I believe this should be one of the early if not first mods. Zero compromise. More clearance. Easier to wrench on the car for various maintenance and upgrades. Even fixed fuel boiling issues as heat isn't trapped as tightly with more clearance between the body and frame.

Brake lines are unaffected as they are attached to the frame. At the ABS block in the engine bay, there's enough slack to accommodate the body lift.

Stellar just finished my LX last week. NST Spec Body, thank you gents! If you recall, I bought one of your first 1.5" lifts. Worked perfect. Stellar said no issues.

We're going to take a stab at a steering extension mod in early Jan. So, will keep you all posted.

Two questions -

1 - With my 1" body lift ordered but on backorder and my 24 Gal LRA here waiting for install, should I wait to install the LRA until after body lift install?

2 - How do the LX side steps work with a body lift? I haven't even looked under this thing yet and it's been at least a year since I looked under my LC200. I cannot remember how the frame comes into play with the steps.

If cutting and getting sliders is the only option, then so be it. If I can keep the steps, even better.

Thank you in advance.

The steps are body mounted.

What is the steering extension for?

The steering is simply “stretched” or left to accommodate the body lift kits. This was a choice after seeing Chad’s rig with his custom 3” body lift and no steering extension on his rig and wheeling in Moab and Colorado without any issue. But if Stellar Built makes an extension, I’m sure there will be some that would like to purchase it and install for the peace of mind.

A new order was just shipped out to Oklahoma City and he asked if anyone was aware of a reputable shop to do the install. He also travels to DFW area and Colorado from time to time. Any recommendations for installation in those areas?

Random question, I have ARB drawers in the back.
I'm assuming I would need to remove the drawers in order to install the 1.5" lift?

Yes, you'll need to access the body mount bolts on both sides in the rear, and also one in the middle behind the 2nd row seats.

That's what I figured. I don't look forward to pulling them out, I remember them being a pain to install.
I guess it would be a good time to make rethink my whole setup while everything is disassembled.
Thanks

Here is my situation.
13 LX570, sensor lift, running skinny Kenda 35's.
I have the EE Offroad full skid plate system and a set of TKO Sliders

Two questions:
1. How does the 1" or 1.5" BL interface with the EE Low Profile Rear Bumper? Does the 1.5" version fit the body lines OK?
2. Would a 1.5" BL make it impossible to run a Trail Tailor hidden winch mount in the front?

I want to run a 1.5" body lift cause I can easily see myself wanting 37"s down the road.
But I'm wondering if I should stay with 1" for the rear low profile bumper and front hidden winch mount...

I don't have the EE bumper or the TT hidden winch, so I can't say for certain, but I am pretty sure that both are frame mounted solutions. The body lift is likely to leave a gap on the rear bumper, so you might need some rubber trim to fill the gap, or some other solution.

With respect to the TT hidden winch, you may well run into interference if running a factory bumper (I really can't say how much if any). That could require unique trimming or modification.
