Could this "project" in any way fall under the Low Volume Manufacturers law that allows low volume production of vehicles?
But then it looks like that only exempts them from Federal Safety Regs, they still have to use an EPA approved engine, which would defeat half the purpose of owning one of these.

"The vehicles are required to meet current model-year emissions standards, although companies are permitted to install engines from other EPA-certified vehicles to help achieve that requirement."

Small-volume carmakers get a big break in Motor Vehicle Safety Act

We have several people in Colorado Springs and people willing to travel there, I myself am passing through on Thursday. Yes or no can someone come see this vehicle to confirm this isn't vaporware?

No. As I think that I mentioned earlier, we won't have a vehicle to show the public (on the East Coast) until sometime after the VDJ79L is unloaded at the Port of Philadelphia -- which is OOA the 28th of July -- and is transported to the OK4WD shop in New Jersey, hopefully the first week of August. We won't have a vehicle to show the public on the West Coast until after the VDJ79L -- that has been worked to be an LC America for SEMA -- is transported to our Colorado Springs manufacturing facility at the beginning of September.

Ok, what other questions is anyone waiting for an answer on?
How about your thoughts on this one, John?

I don't want to be Debbie Downer here but lets say this is really happening, won't Toyota shut it down really fast by telling the overseas dealer or distributor to cease all sales to Mr. Papp? If that is the case, better act fast. I can see that happening but then again I am wrong often.

Thanks for your updates.

I apologize if I'm not following. In answer to the question of how many trucks you have on the ground, you said "a single test vehicle". Where is this vehicle? Can someone look at it? I'm happy to fly anywhere this weekend or Monday.

Seems like it is on the east coast and is driving around so they can get telemetry for the DOT/NHTSA folks.

I've got one...

IF this is for real and if @SteveJackson is good for 3 and @beno has a handful of customers who would handover bags of cash to have one of these here legally it sounds like you'll sell several VERY quickly. Any idea how quickly these can be available...one a month, one every 2-3 months?

Or if you secure a bunch of orders at SEMA when can one expect delivery?

Looking forward to visiting at the end of August or early September

Correct sir.

Ok understood. I'm aware this isn't a "public model" but rather a test mule at the moment. Are you willing to show it to someone? I would love to see it, but I would pay for @beno's flight to go see it. Open to this?

Steve /@beno -- If you want to meet us at the port when we take delivery OOA the 28th of the month, we would be happy to have you!

When demand requires that we are fully staffed, we expect to be able to turn out 6 LC America per week from our Colorado Springs production facility. We would love to be able to have our first vehicles to our first customers right around Christmastime.

Or if you secure a bunch of orders at SEMA when can one expect delivery? I suspect that we will start fulfilling orders taken at SEMA after the 1st of the year -- so January 2018.

Looking forward to visiting at the end of August or early September

Sorry guys, no one sees our test bed.

Maybe park the test bed vehicle in front of a road sign or landmark and take a picture from 100+ feet away and blur the plate number? Many of us would consider it a cool thing just to see 'proof of life'. I.e. a picture 4 tires on the ground in the US.

I'll pay for @beno's ticket but I can't afford his time so he'd have to be in it for the adventure, I have a family thing that weekend

You could share with us a copy of your EPA letter approving the import for testing purposes for the vehicle already here and the one on the way.

So far we know that someone said they had three legalized trucks for sale, that turned out to be false. Now they are saying they have trucks in testing and are soliciting deposits. An HS-7 with with supporting letter, a 3520-1 with supporting letter. You see people in this very thread who are ready to hand over money. Some evidence would go a long way.
