Good job on the photo, that is pretty neat. Nice the bats seem to be making a bit of a come back from whatever that fungus was they had. I've been seeing more flying around this year. Just gotta be aware of rabbies potential still if handling I think. Oh, and clean your gutters. ;)
The tin roof on our house is full of bats. Especially the ridge caps.
When I climb up there to sweep the chimney they get a little anxious. Sounds like an army of the little s***s yelling at me.

Rabies isn't great but otherwise bats are kindof awesome.

Eat their own weight in bugs every night supposedly, which works for me.

As for gutters...I really hate those damn things. :bang:

I would recommend figuring out to get in under the bats and clean out the crap if you can.
Nasty stuff, and really toxic. We had them around for a few years, then they sort of faded.
Haven’t seen any this year yet. Be nice to have them back.

I've had a few sheets of tin up over the years and yep. There's bat**** under there. Vacuumed up a ton of it when I reroofed the dormer.

If I tried to clean more out I'd drive them away and probably kill some bats by accident so I've generally left them alone when I can.
They're just between the tin and tarpaper so it doesn't really affect us unless I have roof work to do.

Bats need all the help they can get so I try not to disturb them.

Life could be worse. 😊

I agree with you. For sure. I think they are cool

I think this should have gone in the Darwin Award thread. As I wipe the tears from my eyes 😂

I always thought you had to die to get a Darwin Award...

That said I think we should make an exception... if it really happened that is.

There are actual levels of Darwin Awards. There are actual Darwin Awards. Worth a look up!

I enjoyed this video

Inspecting some gear lash. This machine has the worm on top and load on the worm gear pulling away from the worm. As the Babbitt bearings wear down the worm gear sinks away from the worm creating the potential for a free spool.

Love that stuff

Been off a lot of social media after loosing my cruiser dog of 13 years, almost every picture of my Bj42 had her in it. Jazzy was my best buddy, she will be missed.
