This sounds like a heck of a great weekend, the kids and I are really looking forward to it!

I know fire restrictions were lifted in many area up north but believe still in effect north of the canyon. Jiffy-Pop popcorn would work with a movie but not as much fun without a campfire.

Just got back from up north yesterday. While not much rain weather was great. Hopefully know by the weekend if I can make this run.

I will be driving up Thursday some time after work. Is there a caravan from the north side being planned?

As far as the potluck goes, if anyone is interested, I can bring plenty of shredded chicken conveniently packaged in single serving ziploc bags. My potluck game is pretty weak.

Any hotel suggestions in the flagstaff area? Thanks

My girls were just at the Ramada and gave it good reviews included was a real breakfast.

Interesting. Looking at the map, the fire itself isn't in our area but smoke could be an issue. Will continue to watch the fire. We will adapt as needed. Hopefully no changes will be necessary. Thanks for the update @LandCruiserPhil

Thanks for the code! Already booked earlier today $54 so not bad but would have liked to take the 10%! Hope the fire starts to settle!

I will be heading up on Friday morning meeting you at the Conoco Travel Center. Address is 7180 US-89 Flagstaff, Az 86004

Mark/Pete - let's plan for the caravan on Friday morning. I'm also doing the drive up early Friday to subtract a camping night so my wife will come along. That makes at least 3 of us for the Friday departure; suggest the Chevron at Carefree & I17 for the meetup...?

Thomas/Pete - I am up for meeting at the Chevron...I am in NW part of Chandler - What time are you thinking? I will be at the club meeting tonight if we want to talk about it.

I think to make sure that you get to the Flagstaff meeting point by 0900 you guys should plan on meeting at 0630 at the Carefree Highway Chevron. This will give you an extra 15 minutes in case you are running late or slow coming up the hill.

Just my 2 cents

Agreed. After conversations with Mark and others on this timing, we don't want to keep the group waiting given that the meetup in Flagstaff is on the NE side of town.

For those interested in the Friday AM departure from Phoenix, please plan on a 6:30 departure from the 4-sons Chevron at Carefree Hwy and I17 (***3150 W Carefree Hwy in the Tramonto Marketplace***). By the way, this is one of the most expensive places in PHX to get gas as it's the last stop before Lake Pleasant going across Carefree Hwy, so you may want to fillup somewhere else and top offhere, only.

Please gas-up and be ready to roll at 6:30, and post here if you intend to join me, @verruckt1 and @Rudster.

There was also a suggestion by @Living in the Past that the quickest route is I-17 to I-40 East. Take 40 East to Country Club and exit, proceed north on CountyClub to 89, then turn right on 89 . The Connoco station will be on the right past the mall, maybe a mile or so.

See the group on Friday. We will try to send GPS coordinates once in our camp spot for the others heading up Friday night or Saturday morning.

@Saddletramp nailed it. The way he said is the quickest and saves some time in traffic.

Potluck - will bring a salad and a couple different dressings.

@aztlctina has a joke
"Why did the tomato blush?

Because she saw the salad dressing!"

Just got a text from @Cruddz , he is in for whole enchilada.

Movie night is shaping up.
