Just worked it out - looks like I have freed up my schedule for Friday night. So, I'll meet you guys at the end of 51 where it dead ends into 24/27 at the Hess station on the right and we'll head that way and get it worked out. Let's talk tomorrow and figure out the time. If you leave Greenville at 5, you should be at the Hess station by 7 easily.

We'll find a place to camp, no problem.

UPDATE: Slight change. Just spoke with Tollhole and there was a mixup with camping reservations. The Boyscouts were allocated Site C in Badin Lake Group Camp and we're now looking for a place to camp.

We have a few different options we're exploring but they are all first come, first serve at this point.

Therefore, we won't know where we're camping until we get there.

QUESTION: Is anyone else (non-Upstate Cruisers) planning on meeting / camping Friday night? If so, and you want to camp with this group, PM me so we can exchange contact info.

Otherwise, plan to communicate and track UC down as you come in on Sat / Sun by Channel 4 on CB and 15 on 2 way radios (Motorola talkabout type).

Looks like we will drive up friday night and scout out some sites that will work for us. Andy may be able to meet us out there and help. If anyone has time to go up early and do this in the daylight and reserve the sites for us that would be great. If not we will make do. Call me (marshall) if you have any good ideas. Well I've been sick sin monday with a bad sinus infection. I'm going no matter what. I might not be able to wheel or party supper hard but I will be ther with the cruiser.

I hope to have all new lights by tomorrow. We shall see.

Still have to get shower curtain and accessories for the shower. Fix the broken muffler hanger that broke yesterday. Top up all the fluids. And hook up the hand throttle. So yeah I'll be busy, dizzle and with a bad headache for the forseeable future.

Now this is a cruiser buddy. But commitments at church and a golf outing Saturday that I promised keeps me in S.C. My cruiser is getting a HEI Dist. but I could have made that happen....now it looks like I may have to work Saturday. Concrete is calling my name. The unbreakable rule is that if you pour basement walls on Friday you had better Strip Forms on Saturday or risk having them become part of the wall.:frown: Hope you guys have a grat trip. Looking forward to MLK.
 
Looks like im not going to be able to make it this weekend either:mad: . I have already made sure that I am not doing anything on MLK weekend so that I can go to Tellico though. Im really bummed because i was looking forward to going to Uhwarrie. Yall have fun!
 
Just so you guys know, all three gas stations you pass on the way to UNF sell trail passes (Uwharrie Sportsman, Swift Island BP, and Mullnix Store; the first and last having very tasty grills which I prefer over the Outpost's).

For guys with cell phones, Verizon and Nextel have no service at all, Alltel has decent spots scattered around, and Cingular can be had at a few places (for emergency reasons).

Just curious if anyone has a game plan figured out for Sunday yet, I might not be able to make it Sat., and would be happy to meet up with you guys some time on Sund. If you know of a time and place I could meet up with you guys, that would be grand!

Hope to see many of you there!

I will post on here later today (friday) the plans. I am going today, early or later in the afternoon as the advance party to secure a site for us. Troll may or may not be with me.

I think Sunday really depends on the weather......... the weather channel says rain starting Sat. night. So it is nasty cold and wet I have a feeling the older gents in the club might be packing up early :D........

I would like to wheel sunday, but if the weather is nasty I might be tempted myself to come home early and get to working on dropping the 3FE into my 40.

Let me know what you're doing as I told Marshall I was planning on joining the convoy over with you guys.

Just a note, there will be spaces available and we'll find a place to camp, no problem. No need to make a early, solo run but if that's your prerogative, so be it!

Also, there is a great, cheap firewood source on the way if anyone will have room in their rig.

Cell service does suck but Verizon (and most others) works 100%, full coverage at Uwharrie Sportsman and will work on most high ridges on the trail. Just have to be at the top of the ridge - and even then it's spotty.

Cool, travel safe. I can't go that early as I'm waiting for someone riding along. I could leave now if I didn't have to wait!!! :doh:

Troll has my numbers - call me if you get lost or need help getting in there directions-wise.

I will haul some but bring as much as you can. As you know a 40 can only haul so much.:D

oh yeah..... we are golden, meeting andy at 6:45, loading up the wagon with lots o' fire wood and then tracking you fellas down to letting the festivities begin

Just talked to JP, so we're set. Since we're convoying, I'll be driving my 40 too and won't have a lot of room like you, but JP should have some room in his wagon so we'll stop and pick some up b/c it's going to be chilly.
