ok; just got my "new" FJ45 and of course there's no manual. There are no diff locks on the wheels; so does that mean i just shift it into 4H / 4L and off I go??

Need some advise here...just dying to go off-roading!

Can you give more information about your truck? Like builddate enginenumbers?

Is 4H/4L the only choice you have on the transfercase? If so it would make sense. You've got permanent 4 wheel drive??

Yup! The front axle is always engaged.
