But now that this guy has left town you'll have the local 4x4 drag comp locked up .... At least in gasser category.

This thing was cool. All street but nicely built. Ran Into him here in town at a Fast food parking lot and chatted some. His buddy had a supercharged 7th injectored Tacoma x-runner. His speed shop was in Tampa at the time. The truck has moved on to a new owner that's rebuilding it on mud. Original owner had a thread but all the pics are down :( he had a Subaru justy or maybe Suzuki swift hatch that had a silly big turbo for all of its 1400 lbs or so. Fun way to die

Well ok. I admit I know nothing of the red neckery or divisions or classes or any of the like that goes on at the local drag strip.

If James would put on his big boy pants he could still give em a run for their money :D

Twin for the win!

Holy Christ. That's insane.

That's a big heat exchanger! I like it!! If that cap is designed to come off for filling, then have him cut a notch out of the core support so you can take the cap off.

Can't wait to see it running!!

There's an inline filler cap on the hose (because that one's impossible to get to :)

But yes - that is a bigass heat exchanger....

Slight update: Based on the whole setup, the Toyota guru guy (that has tuned this engine a lot before) said that at 14psi it would be closer to 750HP....

So we're gonna start with 8psi and see where that gets us. :) Still trying to keep it under 500 for longevity's sake.

Now that said, if 500 doesn't cut it, we'll see what needs to happen to allow us to use ALL THE BOOOST!

There are SOOO many boost memes... ridiculous.

I predict that He will be able to tell us what the weak link in the OEM drive train is :hillbilly:

Getting close. Bet you can about taste it.

Just a tip .... off road vehicles and fans zip-tied to the heat exchanger don't mix.

I went and took a look at it in person... I drooled a little ;)

Good call on the zip ties. I'll mention it. Thanks!

I can't believe the wife us buying the "so we can tow a boat" line but kudos :D

And that's of lot of heat exchanging. Front of that motor is gonna be like a convection oven. Might as well add some hood vents to the build.

Oh believe me, she's smart. She knows this is more for fun than anything else. She's also driven it and agrees it needs more oomph! I assured her that the ludicrous speed button would be hidden so that I'm the only one that can engage it. Her response was basically, hell no. She wants to try it. :)
